Why isn't 181p update for strong 49XX on crosat? Has anyone tried this patch yet and does it have bugs like 180p. I got I from sat universe New Firmware for Strong - Page 40 - Strong but I am afraid of installing it.

Hi,
It was there ,infact two versions , they must have been removed.
I tested with my setup and still bug persisited... press info for any channel and the system crashes...
So I reverted to 178P... Its always safe to have a back up copy of your upgrade patches in order to revert back...

Thanks mankuri. Great advice. Am glad I did not update. I am also on 178p. I usually keep all the patches and also back up my strong before updating to avoid having to rescan and sort all my channels all over again.

Many posts on the net saying that 179p an 180p if you press info on remote, the strong crashes. May be if you help with the link where you downloaded your particular version of the patch because it appears it was pulled down from crosat? What is the exact size (byte count) of your patch (after unpacking)?

The other way is for those who have the version that is working to send the file by email to those who have a problem with theirs. I have done this with an ASAS mate who had a problem loading his 4950H and him and his stb lived happily thereafter.
