I will try this probably in the evening. I have a 4-way Eurostar and an Eurostar in-line amp. I have tried them in the past to disastrous results (signal quality nose-diving). hotbird, do you place the amp before or after the switch (assuming the direction here is from lnb/satellite to receiver)It's connected between lnb and DiSEqC but in reverse ie the end marked to dish should be connected to decorder and the one marked to decorder should be connected to dish
What's the name of that lnb?
GIDEN, did you finally make that trip to the roof? I was there yesterday to turn my 130cm offset and single inverto ultra black lnb towards 7W. I found this portable DVD player particularly helpful when maximizing the signal as it gives you a visual image of what a TV would. It has a AV in line that you connect to your stbJana niloshinda kwa roof trying to get 7e n men i tell the bird is elusive. Nilikuwa napata African Beam na 10804V, na 10762. No amount of tweaking skewing kuhamisha Dish Nilitoka Ngo' the best signal nilipata ni 78% kwa 10804v.I promised to go back kwa roof nikipata a visual in the form of a Ka Tv.
Strongest tps on Eutelsat 7 west A is 11227v,11488h (27500) and Nilesat 201 11785v 27500 carrying Dubai one.on the same 120cm offset I am also receiving Eutelsat 8 west A @ 8 W carrying Aljazeera America,MBC PRO SP 1-4 HD,KTV CH2....with just one LNB
Use a LINE AMPLIFIER works very well with any DiSEqC switch but make sure you connect it opposite.Down at coast province some tps don't turn green until line AMPLIFIER is used at 7°E
I don't mind having a ccam testline on canal. pls send to olaslasho2@yahoo.com. tanxany guyz who needs cccam for test for canalsat reunion which open full package no freeze....
Vicwa: so I followed your wise counsel and took a trip to the roof (okay wall cos the dish is fixed on the wall). Objective: turn my 130cm offset towards 7W for these goodies that you seem to really enjoy. Besides the usual tools, I also took with me: 1. My beloved budget analog satfinder (never disappoints), 2. Portable DVD player (EVD-to act as a TV), 3. Time and patience (very crucial). I connected the satfinder to the lnb and stb and the EVD player to the stb through the AV line (it has an AV in line). I input the tps that you provided and turned my dish from 7e (slightly to my right while behind it, if I am not wrong). In minutes (unlike the 7e), the satfinder started screaming like it had been bewitched! (stolen from an ASAS mate :laugh🙂. I knew I had hit a jackpot and indeed I had cos I had hit a Q90%. I fastened my dish and moved to the more elusive tps (with Q39%) and using the satmeter, I tweaked the lnb as I also changed the elevation on the dish and managed a Q78% on these. While still on the roof.wall, I did a blind scan of my srt 4950h. I am now the proud viewer (like you) of 986 channels, some of them in HD (okay, not all of them are showing). I am able to nab all the birds on 7W. Thank you very much for your encouragement. :clap2:
My next mission will be to try if the 130cm can nab 68.5e, as well as turn my 180cm towards 7e and try get all the goodies that this bird offers.
And now to the pictorial:

Gich yes i had considered buying the EVD but on second thought reasoned i should get a TFT screen and TV combo since the cost was the same. I am planning on visiting the roof soon. NB i chose the TFT becoz its bigger and will also use it with a CPU i had.
Hio sat finder ama meter ni hao much?
@xponder, I bought that one at approximately ksh. 1k. I also have a digital one that I bought at approximately 1.5k but I prefer the analog one. Viva FTA
@Xponder bought mine at Digital life @ 1200 which is digital.(XCRUISER model)
Xponder hakuna ya strong, Gich ako na Discovery-analog na digital i think it was Stargold he can confirm. He was loosely stating its very good or effective.
