Guys great forum you have here..... I've just acquired a strong decoder and 90cm dish in Nairobi . I wanted the 130 cm dish but on seeing the size I panicked. I live in a flat an the location to put up the dish is tricky . I want to put it in the balcony where i can be able to adjust it about 180deg.
I guess most of you have compounds to put all of that stuff. I'll update on the process, right now I'm looking for a metal pole and bracket to mount the dish as the one supplied is too short.
Just when I thought the local broadcasters had finally seen the light, more so after Wakilongo's mail! Seems like the Kenyan mux shall remain a mirage for a time to come.Acording to there facebook its a pay tv but at the moment all the channels are FTA Enjoy
Sat nilesat102 7w,tp 11938/11940v27500 will work
I thought after such a long absence from the house you should have announced your arrival back first before directing us to some seedy street!Get out! This is a respectable establishment. Go to K-street for what you seek. :flypig:
Anyway,i do not think there is any other way apart from trying those european beams that are so weeeaak in our region. Just remember them digital kids will suss out your passwords etc. Then you will wish you never did that!:hail:
Hi Members,
Its quite some time since this was posted and l've read it late, but if I may ask, on what Satellite and position, is it still on currently? Thank you
Anyone with biss keys for nilesat pm me
Is there any forum member from MOMBASA receiving 7°E EUROPE BEAM goodies please share your experience because my ANIMAL PLANNET CRACKS most of the timeCAK is holding a public forum tomorrow at the KICC, i beg ASAS addicts to attend and air our views on fta and how all local broadcasters should be one one easy to get and strong satellite. Believe me, when they get to Mombasa i will attend and voice my opinion.
You inspired me Nash. I have the same 90cm but with and ordinary ksh350 lnb. I am able to receive all the mbcs and BBC W.CNN cracks but i wont sweat as i have all the int. news mux stable on 7e. I believe with lnb like yours, everything will stream in pretty clean. Thank you.Location: Rongai Nairobi.Yesterday I re-directed my idle Eurostar 90Cm dish plus Inverto Single LNB from Eutelsat 8 West-A to Nilesat with pleasant results! After much tweaking / fine adjustments, I got all the TPs on Nile201 at a quality of 62-63 percent; all stable including TPs carrying CNN, BBC, MBC channels, Gear One, Dubai One, etc; And all TPs on Eutelsat 7 West A had quality of 73% and higher. SRT4922A. Results should be better on a SRT4950H. Reason for trying on a 90Cm? Previously, my combined setup of 7East, 7West, Amos 5 and SES5 has failed to deliver a stable performance from Nile201 TPs (although those from Eutelsat 7 West A are okay). But with the return of the MBCs back to Nile201, I could not resist the urge to climb on the roof again! My ASAS symptoms are cured, at least for now . Also got Yamal 54.9 East on a 90Cm plus Inverto LNB at 80% quality. From the yahsat position, just lower the dish 3 milimeters. Now that I could get Dubai One from the Nile201 described above, I had to sacrifice Yahsat for Yamal. Only tradeoff is that I will miss the superb HD quality of Dubai One I have hitherto enjoyed on Yahsat. The hunt continues .
I will miss this, otherwise I would have loved to attend such a forum. I have heard it being advertised vigorously but duty calls.CAK is holding a public forum tomorrow at the KICC, i beg ASAS addicts to attend and air our views on fta and how all local broadcasters should be one one easy to get and strong satellite. Hello forum members. I have 2 very burning questions which I am urgently looking for answers to. 1. If you own a Sony bravia 3d led tv, I noticed it has a digital tuner. Has anyone had an experience using it? im still in the process of setting my gadgets up and would like to know if its reliable and how good it is to nab birds...local, exotic, fringe etc 2. I bought a genuine SRT 4950H decorder about 7 months ago. I turned it on to tune it about twice. Its been in the box all this time cos I was using a 4922 all this time. 2 days ago, I tried connecting ..as experimentation... a USB dvd drive through the usb port. The dvd drive powered on but the decorder completely refused to switch on ie shows the red power button but doesn't come on at all! I ttried following all the instructions on reviving it including the ROM.bin software from srt webside but its not giving in. Completely refused to come on. I have read all the posts on how to revive a dead 4950H but none of the methods have worked. I wonder if the decorder was faulty or I messed something up..eg Short circuit of some sort. Can someone please come to my rescue... Anyone experienced the RED Light syndrome? No green light no signal ...nothing? What do I do? Thanks

Hello everyone. An update on the 4950H. I took the decorder to an electrician in the hope that he will be able to sort it out now that no one seems to have a solution to the above problem. Long story short, electrician claims there was some water that poured into the circuit (I disagree as I handle the gadget) and some resistors are messed. Says he cant find the resistors and its all wasted. Claims it cant be repaired and that I should get a new box. Any advice on this? I believe I can get it fixed but I need pointers...OR Should I sell it for spare parts? If so, any offers?
