I am in Nbi and a re-scan this afternoon on my DTT and they disappeared. I have also helped a friend set-up a DTT today and again, these channels did not pop up. Incidentally, I have noticed the 3 musketeers are back to Signet.

I had called their customer care sometime back and they had told me the signal is available in Masaku. They also said that from 1st Jan the only way to receive them will be by using their STB.

For sure this bamba is doomed for failure for now all channels are recievable for fta n nothing worthy for their decoder. I tweeted them this fact n they deleted it.

90 cm will be good, you should have 63% signal and above. but me am using 75 cm dish with a signal of 67%

Location? Is the dish size applicable in Machakos?

astra 2f is receivable with a 90cm dish in western kenya.outside the footprint 130cm or above for a stronger signal.

As for now they are not in signet or bamba only on pang ... i think they have not agreed to let them broadcasted on the two

Over the weekend, I re-scanned my DVB-T2 decoder and noticed that KTN has now joined the Signet Platform! I guess the other "Big Two", namely NTV and Citizen will follow soon. Just like in politics, in this market for Signal / content distribution, there are no "permanent enemies", ........ , only "Permanent Business Interests" ..... my wild guess.

of the arms. If i remember correctly, about of 4 forum members bought the dishes but have since gone hush... Feed us with the info guys. Your success will inspire us to import. Also, It aint wrong to say you are failing with the fabrication if that is the case. Guys here can help if only you can muster the courage and yell for help :help:

SUBBI’ S 2.4 M
Happy new year to all forum members in this 2015. My apologies for late update on the journey of the 2.4m dish, I will summarize the installation process as i have been quite tied up with family,school work and others .
Current setup
The current setup has the following 4 lnb setup 7e (European *& African Beam) . Gettting most of the digiturk channels with more than Quality of 78 for idman,discoveries channel ,Baby tv,Baby first. Cracking with 39%-79% is animal planet tps 11534 v30000
Natgeo and the music channels –audio of oldies,jazz etc show up briefly at 39% on clear weather.
Other LNB ON THE SETUP
Nilesat/Eutelsat 5w- channels available majestic cinema,fox movies and fox, available are the Dubai racing ,Dubai tv .Dubai one signal too weak ( Hnece to get Dubai one ,I have set a 90 cm dish to yahsat 1A which gives me Dubai one hd with Fox movies and Fox)
Also availabe is AMOS 5 CHANNELS AND SES 5 Channels
Challenges:
Hoisting the pieces of the dish up the fourth floor and assembling the 2 pieces and the support base on the roof.
The greatest challenge was in identifying the Focal length of the dish , from Subbi’ calculation and mathematical derivation the LNB arm should have been as given by Subbi .However the practical aspect we found the Focal length abit different. Hence our initial installation on 11th December 2014 was not success..We also noted that the dish needed to be stabilized with a wind breaker and also fortify the dish sway on the horizontal plan due to wind.
On dec 29th 2014 we fabricated some adjustable LNB arm to allow us to fine tune the search for the focal lenth and were able to zero in on the focal lenth to appreciable level of confidence.We notice the wind sway and to fine tune had to put in some two 3 extra support arm on the dish lower side to stabilize LNB arm. Thus the project was wrapped up on Saturday 2nd January 2015.

jiolin/yaojin stb marketers were riding with their phrase #freeforever signet pang and bamba which prompted rag to scramble their channels.its likely in future it will become a paytv with other premium channels because bamba setboxes have a smartcard.

I've noted DSTV aggressively marketing new decoder ostensibly to be HD and going for Kenya shillings 4800/= .But really how HD is it?



As far as I know.. there are about 7 tru HD (1080) channels on the dstv bouquet.
i.e

• SuperSport HD 1
• SuperSport HD 2
• SuperSport HD 3
• MNET HD
• MMET Movies 1 HD
• iConcert HD
• Discovery HD
• Showcase. HD

anyway I am waiting feedback from users to find out if all channels are HD. or could Dstv be lying to their potential customers on the pretext that its selling a full HD decoder?

As someone noted, maybe they are targeting those who are not aware of satellite FTA. Otherwise, it is laughable to think that that's what they're using to market their STB. Really unfortunate.

Maybe in future but currently there is nothing to write home about bamba channels. Not worth a cent you spend on their stb
