hallow experts, need your inputs. i have just acquired a new srt 4922, i did a software update for iptv, then i connected vodacom 3g modem, went to system settings>>ip settings then i press the red button on remote to scan for ip address settings, a pop up menu appears with a message SENDING DISCOVER... and it keeps on rolling for 20 min till i cancelled it. is there any other way to do settings for a modem.

is your modem huawei? mine is safaricom huawei and it works great. you need to make sure that 3g network is available, try switching you machine of and on after some tries.

That's wishful thinking considering companies like Azam have invested in selling their content in this region. Am curious if guys in Tanzania on Azam used to get MBCs before they were pulled off 7west and 8west? Am trying to establish if azam is the reason they were removed.

a friend of mine is in the uae the asas desease in him could not control him and he found himself in the mbc offices....he asked the why they are not in east africa.....the answer was we are ony brodcasting in North Africa

DIGITAL MIGRATION IS HERE

Viewers in Nairobi have until the end of this
year to migrate to the digital platform or they
will not be able to watch TV.
This is after the government set December 31
as the last day when analogue signals will be
used in Nairobi and its environs, commencing
the first phase of the switch to digital
television.
The decision follows a Supreme Court ruling
in September that compelled the
Communications Authority of Kenya to open
dialogue with media houses and agree on
new switch over dates as well as possible
award of a signal distribution licence.
The announcement was made by CAK Director
General Francis Wangusi on the sidelines of a
telecommunications conference on Tuesday.
“We have set December 31st as the deadline
for digital migration in Nairobi. Consultations
are still ongoing with stakeholders but players
in the broadcast industry are expected to
cooperate,” Mr Wangusi said.
A nationwide switch over is expected to be
completed by March 2015, Mr Wangusi said.

I had some visitors recently and as I was trying to infect them with asas, I did a survey: 20% are digital due to pay tv, 20% have the DVB-T2 stbs, while the rest are still analogue. 100% had not had about FTA satellite and were amazed to see what goodies I am enjoying.

I have an SRT 4950H. Opinion is divided right in the middle of which one is better. I read somewhere that 4950 is a later version of 4922. Whether it comes improved I cannot tell. But aren't newer versions of anything an improvement?

Coming from a selfish point of view if more people discover FTA especially goodie on 7E we risk getting locked out.

I have both but I prefer 4950H. My 4922 is resting in its box, might use it in future or OLX it.
