African Satellite World and Sat Gear

As I noted getting 11618V hosting Nat Geo,Nat Geo Wild and History channels is a tough nut to crack....with a tiny cloud passing spells doom to my setup.....

Hi ruffcast, try the special prime focus lnb like stargold fugi. It works wonders if well set. Getting all tps including the one holding natgeo (although nat geo cracks sometimes i the day or when a small wind misbehaves). My bbc knowledge tp is 70% and discovery science are at 63% in quality. Also getting the elusive disneyxd at 59-60%.

Hi friends. Where can i buy the 1.8m or 1.6m offset dish in Nairobi? My channels on Nilesat crack during light rainfall, particularly Al Jazeera sports, Cnn,BBC,etc.

I'm currently using a 180cm prime focus dish, a Strong 4922 HD, and Fuji LNB. My best signal quality is 61%.

Cheers.

Thanks all for all the tips, but Seems like I am still not having luck with digiturk. I only managed to get an increase on BBC persian tp to 62% quality max, both on the offset 120cm an 180am prime wih inverto blacl ultra .Also tried the stargold fuji without much luck

Hi you should not be having a problem with that set-up. Does your 1.8m dish have a dent, not on a straight surface? coz i have the same equipments as yours and i am enjoying 80% on the jsc channels and 75% on the cnns, press tva, bbcs, et all

Hi flybird and all the family members. Iam looking for the pf stargold fuji lnb holder. where can i get one probably within Nairobi? I would like to use it of my 1.8m pf dish to pull down 7e with its european beam. Iam craving for nat geo. What are my Chances? Iam in Machakos. Have a blessed hunting and thank you.

Thanks Abu
I actually bought the equipment a few days ago. I've checked the dish and couldn't see any dents. It's also mounted on a straight surface.
My location is Mombasa rd, near City Cabanas, what's yours?
Also, i have not done any updates/upgrades on my Strong decoder, It's S/W version 1.00(Jul 10 2012)

Could these affect the signal quality?

what is your location?, my location is kapenguria, im using 90cm with Samson lnb and im getting 382 channels with most of Europe B beam at 60% including digiturks, may be you can try tweaking your lnb.

Guys the location matters a lot and dish size, nothing more nothing less, no matter how much you play with the lnb, the bigger the dish makes much difference, try 2.4m offset digiturk pap.

Here is the setup

Nice work bro!! Can i pay you a visit this weekend, i am planning to ugrade my FTA experience and you look like the kind of person to learn from. i am on 0752141906.!

I reside in the Diaspora part of Nairobi (Rongai)
Did you patch it with any of the latest software? preferably 132p, 135p or 139p? The update plays a big role too but i believe your dish is not properly aligned.

ruffcast
i feel you, am further north of nairobi, to be precise isiolo. am getting all european beam tps. the TP with least quality being 67% i.e the one with nat geo, wild etc. the lower TPs like the one of bbc persia are locked at 80%. i tried with 90cm dish but only able to pull down african beam, but i was able get them with 1.8m PF and stargold universal single lnb. here are my setup, look at how i placed my lnb for maximum quality. note e7A lnb is the one at the centre.

Thanks @ Abu. I will do the updates and adjust the alignment and see how it performs. I'll report back with the results.

Cheers bro.

Hi guys.
What is the difference between these 2 STARGOLD FUJI LNBs? Both are for PF dishes but one has a longer neck
than the other. Are they the same in performance?

one is dual while the other is single, the dual lnb is more powerful. i use it to nab yahsat on a 6ft dish.

now that my daughter bosts of a 15k tow in the name of a decorder but do i say lets keep brotherhood and bring down birds

My brothers in the East its so heart warming to read everyday how you are bringing down Eutelsat 7A with 90cm, 120cm and 180cm and above.I always say you guys are lucky unlike those of us in West Africa. I have not come across anybody bringing down 7A or B in west africa. At the same time I have not read anything from you guys in the East hunting fringe satellites like Hotbird, Astra 28.2 etc. I want to know from the gurus in the house is what other b European birds (satellites) is tracked in the East apart from Eutelsat 7A, Badr, Nilesat, Paksat & Yahsat. Is your lack of interest as a result of location? For majority of us in West Africa the minimum dish size for fringe sats is 2.4m PF. I would love to have a your opinion about the differences in what fringe satellite interest us. Is location the issue?

Hi Bat, just scanned that frequency now, and I do not get a decent signal, and no channels, yet I get all of the other Azam channels well. Are you still getting them, 6:30 am Wednesday?
