Invacom and Inverto LNBs were not prominent. I cannot say I know where they are but I will activate my satellite contacts there and see if you can get.

I also left my luggage there which will be sent next week by Sahiliya so if I get they can be sent with my luggage.

That way you do not pay any transport fees. But these things are hard to look if you do not know Dubai. It is like Chief soita coming to Nairobi. You are lost and asking for directions every few minutes!
 
Hi brothers in the ASAS madness fraternity am just asking this for information. Does the height of the pole from the ground on which one mount, for example a 1.8m or 2.4m PF satellite dish, has any effect on signal quality or the ability to track out of footprint or fringe satellites assuming all things are equal?
Which is best for fringe/out of footprint satellites polar mount or Ground mount? Brothers your views would be appreciated.

I have invacom for offset and with flange for prime focus, still new, bought sometimes back in dubai for testing, if interested, PM me we agree on the price.
 

If the dish is obstracted or surrounded by trees, walls, houses etc when ground mounted a pole is then required to give the dish the height to "see" the sat over these obstacles and get a signal. Also these obstacles reflect heat radiation which the LNB recieves as signal noise. This noise called "ground noise" can disturb signal reception especially for out of footprint signals. Finally, the higher the pole the better your chances getting signals from sats that are near the horizon.

However if your dish has a clear view of the sky where the sat you want is located without obstraction from anything, pole height then becomes irrelevant because the dish can see the sat. Ground mount then becomes best because not only will you get the signal loud and clear but you will also be saved from those dangerous climbings when tweaking the dish or LNB. Also ground mount is less prone to being struck by lightening in the rain season. The dish is also less likely to be swayed by high wind, thus giving you a stable signal.

Reliable sources inform us that AB7@7w has been shot down in Zimbabwe. This is very good news for our southern African friends who have been salivating for this bird. our source has confirmed that he is recieving 130 channels including fox movies , time movies and gladiator.
Equipment used is a 6 foot solid dish and an unbranded lnb. More tests are going on to try and get the mighty MBCs.
Meanwhile, am now hooked to watching series. the only one i had watched was prison break but in october a pal made me watch the walking dead and am now hooked, i use torrents to download all the episodes and am loving it. Next in line is breaking bad, suits, Dexter and homeland. I hope this will cure my ASAS.
ps: i watch 3 episodes per night.

kungu1 nd all d forum members im using xmaster hd receiver d problem is d 3g network coz sometimes it delays 4 all most 10 mins, kindly advice mi can i use orange modem.

My humble suggestion is to first make sure that the pole or post that your 130cm dish is mounted on is absolutely vertical, in my experience this makes a big difference.
 
On 2nd November Kibukila noted that the TING package left Eutelsat 36A (The DSTV sat) and was now on Amos 5 at 17E, 12418V 3000.

Interestingly, neither the great Lyngsat nor King of Sat have caught up with this change, they are still showing all of the TING/ATN/Agape channels on 36E Transponder 12275 H and nothing on Tp 12418V on Amos 5.

I enjoyed getting CNN and Al Jazeera English FTA on the TING Package when it was on 36E, but good free things do not last.

I scanned Transponder 12418/3000 on Amos 5 today, and I found a total of 25 channels, all labelled encrypted ($). However just four were in fact free to air, these were ATN, TBC1, Loveworld and UBC. Sadly, CNN and Al Jazeera English were encrypted, as was Dubai One etc.

How are people in Tanzania watching these channels? - the whole package sounds a little strange, Agape, ATN, TING, various acronyms all pointing to the same mysterious group that seems to be religious based somewhere in Tanzania. They have no sensible www presence that I can detect, when you Google Agape, you get a show and tell site, but absolutely nothing about their sat frequencies or how to receive the TV channels.

Can anybody enlighten me?

ASAS addicts from the coastal region have been accused of exploitation by a member of this forum, his exact words are "For a long time, fellow ASAS members have been exploited from the enlighted ASAS members from the coastal region." I would like to thank the said member for acknowledging the fact that we are enlightend on satellite issues coz like i said in one of my earlier posts, three quaters of all sat dishes in Kenya are in the coast.This is an uncalled for and unwarranted attack on the dignity of honourable members of this forum from the region as it portrays us as conmen and swindlers. The member also says that this has been going on for a long time, i would like him to
a) Tell us which forum members have lost money to the 'coast cartel'
b) Tell us the amounts involved.
c) Tell us how the swindle was done. like in did someone recieve money and refuse to deliver or sell substandard goods.
d) If he is going after one member, spare the rest all the drama and tell us the guilty party.

Since the days of the old RDI links and numbers to stores which stock the ASAS equipment have been dropped time and again for members to call and enquire about their requirements, several times guys in this forum have been asked if they have a share in the several stores that we get our goods from as its about two or three stores that have what we want.
Most members here have not met one another and depend on trust and its very disturbing when we are accused of breaching this trust.
I have made very good friends from this forum and also met some of them.

If any of you has been conned, swindled or given a raw deal by the 'coastal cartel' or anyone else in this forum please come forward and let us know. Everyone here is aware of all the risks involved in sending money to stangers and how to go about it.

finally, Forum members have travelled all over the world and have even been to china where all the ASAS equipment is very cheap as its manufactured there and they dont stand on the roof and brag to anyone who will listen about where they have been.
