Corporate grade RX (Receive, Transmit (for internet)) dishes are very expensive. They're not like the ordinary TVRO. (Television Receive Only ) dishes we use.

And the price of any dish more than doubles with 50% increase in size because weight also more than doubles and thus the shipping costs especially offset dishes that are bulky. But $550 for a second hand 1.8m dish is still a little steep.

Thanks freq the price more than doubles especially if its an offset. A 6ft pf used to cost 5500 while an 8ft was 20-22k nowadays the 6ft is playing catch up.
Large offset dishes still cost an arm and a leg, so if lucky to get one in good shape and right price just run with it. A friend in Rwanda was given a 1.8m offset free.

I guess it sounds exotic and enchanting claiming you originate from some far distant land your immediate clientele-to-be have very little connection with. Reminds me of a friend of mine who went to study in India, and after blowing away his allowance from home resorted to 'treating' his host using juju. He was ever busy and the patients seemed to have very good opinion regarding his services.
You know seeing a black man in some street corner of Kolkata with strange paraphernalia was psychologically adequate to alleviate their miseries.
