African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Apparently they have implemented what they're calling hash mode10.Newish chinese receivers that are on powervu 3.0 are able to open.I was also stumped and did quite a bit of research on that sat since it is the easiest to nab on my rudimentary setup and it also happens to be my primary source of world cup games. But now they are showing wimbledon so for now 64.2E is not worth the hassle for a football lover
The games are on prime channel if you have compatible box.

aaahaaa!I suspected as much, which is why i was trying to find a way to get powervu 3.0 on my receiver(it was autorolling perfectly before this new hash mode 10 thing).

What do you mean?
So, Freesat, Strong, ....are not compatible that's is reason for AFN Prime, News encrypted on my side.
The hash mode 10 thingie requires powervu 3.0,only in the newest chinese receivers.maybe those decoders you mention use powervu 2.0.this means a software update is needed

Not only hashmode 10 requires PV 3.0 but now CISCO have the ability to secure Powervu in conjunction with other encryption systems like irdeto or video guard etc. This is their way forward which means not so in the distant future, watching PV channels would require satboxes that would have the ability to combine two different encryption systems into a single key, something that would be a heck of an effort.
So currently CISCO are in a task of ensuring that they roll updates as much as possible until it reaches a point all Chinese boxes fail to do the job, then the new encryption method will roll on.
Now imagin, currently, the XONYS at IS 20 and Asiasat 7 have turned into a ghost show as even the mighty Gsky as of today majority of their boxes have been rendered not fit for the job while not even two weeks have passed since they rolled POWERVU 3.0 update. This means to watch the xonys at IS 20 a new software again would be required even to those with 3.0.
In saying this, all the while in my end they were ok,(the xonys at IS20) but today, they are scrambled.

Even the Sqnys at 66e went off yesterday.. If things continue towards this direction, only die hard Sat enthusiasts are going to be left in this game. With whole packages dissapearing on sats day after day, and few interesting channels left scattered over different sats motorisation will be the way to go .

Strange enough the unpopular brands are the ones rocking! The likes of

Echolikn i5000
ECholink El5001
E7000
El 7777 HD.

Starsat decoders(www.starsat.com)

These mostly have their markets in India and the Arab world! And have not been affected for the most part this year and I have been following their trend since January.
As we speak they are still rocking the sqnys in 66, 68, 105.

I'm still finding a way to access their point of sales so that if the trend is still the same, I might get my hands on them! I won't surrender easily to capitalism.

The brands are only unpopular locally because kawaida Africans like cheap stuff... To survive people Will have to go the extra mile and import lots of things. It won't be for the faint hearted.

Hopefully our haterade for the big brother will keep us going..

Aslo noticed dskvaries on IS20 started acting funny.

I have an old Z*ku decoder model SAS603 that got spoilt while updating software. Is it reviveable?
Hi, and thank you for asking...i will try my best to find the right boot loader recovery file for your decoder if it's available will let you know. I guess you had also tried to recover it through RS232 port, and if that failed then the only option is to recovery it through its EEProm memory and restore it back to its operation mode.

Hornsat cable package now live on 78e .. Somali People.

"Horn Action movies seems to be in English. Horrible quality though

I have been searching for a while now. Starsat decoders have been dribbling Powervu like nothing! This is the company based and focused in middle east!
But getting it is an issue as they only sell in Arab world and their selling point is Dubai!
However! I have learnt that they have been banned from Dubai (you have guessed right why they have been banned!). So if they change their focus, and shift to south and northern america(like mexico) and Africa, I'm sure they will do better.
I have written them an email, asking for the below decoder, let's see if they are capable of sending one these ends!

Tell them to put these things on eBay or something.. we would order them in droves.. but if they can ship to an individual directly it would be still okay

Is that a shout for help or a shout of victory?
It's a campaign The package has grown very fat. Its time it gets slaughtered. The ku side is emaciated though with the departure of rt doc and rt news leaving it even more barren
