African Satellite World and Sat Gear

UP UP UP about 5 Inches UP.

Thanks freq, I am praying for condusive weather. I were to try tonight to balance it with that of 7E as RankSat was advising (and report back) but flysat says that Azam package left or the signal on its frequency should still be on?

I also moved houses last week and faced the same predicament. I am now receiving half of the number of Kenyan channels that I was receiving previously despite the fact that the aerial is now located higher that my previous residence.
Sorry about this Munyaga. So much for digital migration the terrestrial option! Sometimes I wish it never happened at all since the inconsistencies in the signal is such a problem even to the big players. Try visiting the Bamba, Signet, ADN, PANG etc social media pages to see what I mean. Pity the poor souls who manage those handles since all they seem to do everyday is apologize to their clients for the downtimes.

It would have been much easier, reliable and possibly cheaper if the government decreed that all the Kenyan channels be uploaded on a single accessible bird like that at 5E to help in the migration, rather than having each of the players attempt to put up its own infrastructure (which they have failed to do well). Indeed we have a precedent in the mobile phone BTS which presently have to co-locate. The upside to such a move would be that in one fell swoop, the entire country would be covered by the footprint, and not the present case where more than 2 years after the much touted digital migration, large swathes of the country are signal-less.

And the merchants (GOtv, Startimes et. al.) haven't fared better either. My neighbors whose were on them migrated to satellite due to signal disappearance. I have confirmed this every time I rescan my fta decoder.

Gratefully acknowledged. I now know the enormity of the task ahead, matching ambition with practicality. And the best is drawing from your experience, I need not re-invent the wheel. Thanks once more

It's okay, let's wait and see. They should borrow a leaf from the Arabic speaking nations and make that a reality for the diverse geographical features of our country really affect the terrestrial signals reach.

az$m tv didn't leave. I dont think. dont use this frequency,

use this

and target this (7e)

and this (5e)

E70B haina Citizen. Your best bet for this is IS-22 @72.1°E which you can get using the 180cm. Only channel missing here is NTV.

What you’ll get on Ku-band at E70B is the two KTNs, Kiss & some (about 7) Bamba channels, plus radio.

I have that C-band combo but on 240cm pf. Pics unavailable for now. Basically, you have to cut the feedhorn so as to accommodate the other LNB as they’re too close to one another.

IS 22@ 72E is ver tricky, very tricky I,ve never seen anyone here nab it. I do not think it can be a parasite on a 6ft

No it isn’t. Apart from that one Tp that’s in multistream format as explained on page 2 of this thread, the rest of the Tps are a breeze even with 180cm, with which I previously experimented.

Up, obviously. Increase your elevation.

Which frequency?

He wants to remain at 68.5 and put 72 as a parasite on 180cm. is that breezy as well?

also Kungu was using a 240cm on that post

Thanks Ranksat for your input on this. Regarding the cut on the feedhorn, how deep should it go? Or roughly how far apart should the 68.5 (main) and 72 (parasite) lnbs be? Please let me know once you can access your set-up. Am willing to give it a go at some point.

Now I have all the 'recipe', I can't give excuses. Thanks a lot freq.
So when I receive that AzN\ frequency I can well be able to receive the 7E's that you quote and 5E?
yes you can. it'll also depend on the strength of your lnb. A very weak lnb will require some tweaking and compromise

Mlio katikati ya mji kuna tatizo la signal au ni kwangu tu zimekata tangu jana mpaka mda huu sioni kitu
