Tanzania failed to reach the group stage of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after losing in Mozambique on a 4-3 aggregate..
The hosts won 2-1 at the Estadio do Zimpeto in Maputo courtesy of strikes from Josemar and Elias Pelembe Domingues, while Mbwana Samatta scored the only goal for Taifa Stars.
Khamis Mcha's brace had made the results a 2-2 draw in Dar es Salaam, while the Mambas were able to respond through Domingues and Isac Carvalho to earn a crucial draw away from home.
Josemar opened the scoring during added time in the first half to give his side a 1-0 advantage going into the break while Samatta scored to make the results 1-1 in the 77th minute to revive Tanzania's hopes of advancing to the group stage.
Taifa Stars failed to take advantage and conceived another goal in the 83rd minute when Domingues scored the winner to fire his side into the group stage.
