When You Fall
A Poem
There are times when
you just feel tired,
tired of trying to fix things,
tired of trying to carry on.
You tried to write that book but it can’t be finished..
You tried to record that song
but it won’t be heard
You tried to dream
but all felt hopeless
You tried to love
but no love came in return.
It’s that kind of tiredness
that won’t turn into rest that exhaustion of both body and soul.
It’s that kind of weariness
that you can’t just shake off or put your mind into so it would go away.
It never goes away
until you surrender
until you release
everything that weighs you down.
You don’t lift yourself up
you let yourself fall
you don’t beat yourself up you forgive and you let go
You hope for someone elseto catch you
someone who will not
let you down
You are never certain
but you have no choice but to believe....
Sometimes you have to let someone in
sometimes you have to trust again......
