A 28-year-old man, Andrew Nsubuga Sekibaamu Jenkins, has been remanded to prison after appearing before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly practicing law without the required qualifications.

Nsubuga, a resident of Najjera in Kira Municipality, was charged with two offences under the Advocates Act, Cap. 295, which regulates the practice of law in Uganda.

Prosecution alleges that Nsubuga engaged in legal practice despite not being a qualified advocate as required by law.

He appeared before the court, where he denied the charges. The court subsequently remanded him to prison as investigations into the matter continue.

He will return to court on a later date when the case comes up for further mention.
