You may think you've seen the world all over, under, around and through, but there will still be wonders to make your eyes pop. Even if you're a devoted animal lover, you can't honestly expect to learn all of the 1,367,555 non-insect animal species that are found on Earth's face today! Besides, by the time you finish reading this text, new animal species might be discovered.

Just 5 percent of the oceans have been explored by humans, so there are potentially many more frightening sea creatures hiding in the water.

Here is a list of 10 strange animals you probably never heard about and will probably not see any time soon prancing around your backyard.

1. Glaucus Atlanticus

This creature, also known as the blue dragon, is a blue sea slug type. It can be found in warm ocean waters because it floats on the surface due to a gassed bag in its stomach.

Scotoplanes live on deep ocean floors particularly at depths of more than 1000 meters in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean Abyssal Plains. It is sediment feeder and it gets food from deep-sea mud through the removal of organic particles.
