Zimbabwe Suspends Lithium Exports

The Government of Zimbabwe has with immediate effect suspended the export of all lithium concentrates and raw lithium minerals, extending the 2022 ban on unprocessed lithium ore.

Major producers such as Bikita Minerals and Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe will now be required to prioritise local processing and beneficiation.

Authorities say the move is meant to increase value addition, create jobs and boost foreign currency earnings.
