World's Happiest Countries Named

1. It lacks accuracy and genuineness.

The Report not only lacks accuracy but its genuiness and relevancy is highly questionable. in determining whether a certain society is happy against another, we normally looks on several issues like, per capita income, peace of mind, clean environment, etc. suprisingly, per capita income may be the misleading indicator to this, but it is regarded as Plus or Minus to the satisfaction (Happiness) of any provided community (Society). Kwa mfano, page 59 up to 62 of the report, walitumia factors kama sadness, Depression na stress of various countries, eg. Asia, Africa, Europe..to mention in few. according to the report, ""Western Europe and Latin America – reported stress is always significantly more frequent for men than women. In two other regions – South and East Asia – it is higher for men in all younger age groups, while in three other regions –MENA, CIS+CEE, and sub-Saharan Africa –rates are essentially the same for men and women". That is not true.

Irrelevant to EAC

The Report focused on the Length of life and number of Birth, Acceptability and Traditional cost benefit analysisas the fundamental factors for happiness.kwa mfano, countries like china, India, Japan restrict number of Birth per family. unlike country like Tanzania-EAC ( Africa Generally) have no such policy. soma kuanzia page 78-90.

Lacks Clear Methodology

As i said earlier, the report is shody one. the methodology used are less substantiveand thus lacks credibility for learned people to believe it. kwa kawaida report lazima ionyeshe clear and detailed methodology used to collect data pamoja na strength of each methodology deployed. kwa nilichokiona ni assumance na Hypothesis testing. soma kuanzia page 84-87

50%/50% rates:

If i were asked to provide a mark(s) on the overal report, i would rate it to 50% as the score. kuna mambo mengi tu ambayo sikubaliani na hii Report na kuna mengine nakubaliana nayo.kwa mfano, issue ya sampling haiko clear kwenye hiyo report. i.e. mtu kibera anaweza asiwe na furaha wakati mtu wa Nairobi akawa happy. the same applies hata hapa Bongo. Mtu wa Morogoro anaweza kuwa happy than mtu anayeishi Dar. I still say No to the Report.

Definition of Happiness:

Happiness can be defined as contentment, pleasure, contentedness, satisfaction, cheerfulness, cheeriness, merriment, merriness, gaiety, joy, joyfulness, joyousness, joviality, jollity, jolliness, glee, blitheness, carefreeness, gladness, delight, good spirits, high spirits, light-heartedness, good cheer, well-being, enjoyment, felicity.

Is the Report Realistic?

I guess NO. kwa mfano, leo naweza kuwa happy and tommorrow not...Thus, how can we conclude in total that someone is unhappy? kuna factors nyingi sana ambazo zina-lead to happiness...beyond the Report Findings!!!

Well, describing this post in simple terms, happiness means giving what you like or feel good about to others before asking them for yourself. This justifies that famous proverb: You get what you give! Psychologically, happiness is the natural feeling that gets triggers instantly within, by helping others or doing something good to others. Am I right?

@Prof has good points.

Binafsi i dont buy cheap stories kama hizi, unless and only unless kuwepo ushahidi wa kuaminika beyond reasonable doubt.

Switzerland, Denmark and other Nordic Countries for that matter have a culture of Trust. For one, They know, the taxes they pay are for the well being of others. In N. America we are reminded daily that we are paying high taxes, elected Govt's then cut taxes and then cut services. In Africa, people does not want to pay any taxes but want a lot from their Governments.

Thanks for that perspective, Prof. There are definitely factors that can't be accounted for in a survey, and you've experienced some of these first hand. This is one of the most intelligent comments I've read!

What's happiness? Coz they might've considered the countries that played Pharrell's anthem the most as their main criteria. I'm just saying

You're disappointed because....

The happiest countries have in common a large GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy at birth and a lack of corruption in leadership. I'd be happier with just the lack of corruption in leadership.

The definition of happiness might vary from country to country. What will make a Kikuyu happy might not be the same as what will make a Finish man happy.

.

Absolutely!, it's also the feeling of satisfaction, and as you said it might vary from place to place, I'll be different from Prof and wouldn't say the report is unrealistic per se, I think it depends on factors they used in different places to come up with their findings, so they might be right in some places and they might be wrong in a different place.

I think you are correct, in fact, happiness is hard to define. Americans are the most stressed people on earth, but according to the findings, are better than many, .... Argggh! 80% of Americans stressed out at work—jobs—stress

I have no idea, ngumu mno ku define ndo mana najiuliza wamepimaje pimaje hii kitu.
It is har if not impossible kulinganisha furaha ya Mtanzania na Mrusi na Mpalestina.

kui
Ha ha ha ha, I was just showing you the whole thing. 125 is somehow better them 146. By the way, it is not 12.5 but 125. Kenya is in the top 125 list.

Is it not amazing that Ugandans are much happier than Tanzanians? Even Zimbabweans are.

And somaliland is heppier than all above

Kweli hupaswi kupokea kilichosemwa kwa kuwa hata mtafiti mwenyewe anainterest zake lkn it's a good idea to go at the mirror and look at yourself, then you look at others ,my intake is that when someone is saying keep your ears open ,there may something logic. May GOD bless our country thought we are at such a bad position
