Ever since Mr. J. Kikwete became president there have been a number of event requiring immediate attention but unfortunately the president has not been acting like a commander in chief. In recent days there has been a series of bombings in Arusha city but there has not been statement issued by the president regarding the matter.

Taking into account that Arusha is the headquarter of East African community, the headquarter of African court, and center of tourism and therefore source of foreign income it is indisputable that Arusha should be regarded as a strategic city. Bombings in the city is not only damaging the reputation of the city but it is adversely spoiling the image of the country and holding back the economy at large.

When you talk to security officials behind the scene they tell you the truth that information regarding the people funding the bombings is at their disposal but they are failing to act because those guys are untouchable!! Yes untouchable because high ranking government officials including the president himself don’t want to be blamed for drastic actions that might be taken by security apparatus against perpetrators.

It is high time that the so called advisers to the president awake him from deep slumber so that he start acting like a commander in chief, he should not fear or favor a certain segment of the society, By constitution he has the duty of care to all citizens regardless of their religion, race, political affiliation and even sexual orientation.
God Bless the country we love Tanzania, and let fear and favor be wiped out of our country.

That is why we say we have a slow thinking government! With all the bombs events the cabinet has not come with a serious plan on how to embark on this serious issue! Where are we heading to? Arresting some guys by police is not the only step required the commander in Chief must issue a statement of which wananchi will act upon in safe guarding our country.

When you have politicians within pockets of economic moguls and the"security under armpits" of politicians expect a situation whereby political matters are prioritized to benefit the two while the rest of the country goes shamble!!!!

He is commander in chief.
If you don't believe, try to temper with his beloved ones, or wait till our neighbours threaten our sovereignty... You'll realize that he is a soldier after all, a colonel.
Sasa wewe lipua lipua masai pale Arusha afu ikotaka kumchosha our presidaa na fitu fidogo kama hifyo?

Come 2015, we will look at JK's tenure as a lost decade. We can only hope Tanzania does not fall in the same trap again. Losing another decade, will be a disaster whose consequences nobody can imagine.

Do we real have the government? I am just thinking loud.

Sometimes you need to see beyond your immediate vicinity

I concur with you, we don't need a mediocre kind of leadership

Do we real have the government? I am just thinking loud.

The government is not there just to deal with issues which to some extent we are causing ourselves. before blaming our leaders, are we really taking measures to help them to deal with the problem or we are just there to do politics?

Do we real have the government? I am just thinking loud.

but who is the government? I think is me and you. Help our leaders to pinpoint who are responsible with these bombs, giving the statement as the commander in chief will not be the solution at all.

This is the wrong interpretation of the government, The Miriam Webster dictionary defines the government as the group of people who control and make decision for a country, state etc. Let me ask you, are you and me in position to make big decisions? definitely not.

Sometimes we need to think out of the box, let's not confines ourselves in politics. Groups like Al shabab and Boko Haram started small and now they are big terrorist organizations. Instead of pointing fingers to politicians we should focus to other social institutions who might be behind the killing of our citizens.

Is Commander in Chief = Commander in Thief?

Kikwete is the biggest mistake Tanzanians have ever committed, It's time to reap just what we sowed.I just hope that our country doesn't fall apart any further than it is before the election day.

Indeed

Tanzanians have to act wisely in the forthcoming elections. We did a life mistake to instill this kind of regime, it was a lifetime mistake that should not be repeated. The regime is in shamble for sure, there is no one to stand for the regime not even the President. The next regime has alot to do to reverse the adversaries caused in this regime. God help us with this, inasmuch as I know Tanzanians God's intervention is needed.
