My late wife had cystic fibrosis. She suffered a lot and we knew her time was short. Her cf led to diabetes, gastro paresis, detached retina, and a variety of other complications and related issues.

We were together for 10 years and we lived like there was no tomorrow. Without exception, I always put her happiness first. It was the most incredible and wonderful 10 years of our lives. We had so many crazy adventures.

She was worth every night I slept in some hard waiting room chair that some nurse brought me, which was for weeks at a time; every night that I didn't get enough sleep because of the noise and staff coming in and out; every moment scrambling to keep the bills paid so I could be there for her. I spent about 3 months of every year sleeping in the hospital, holding her hand, speaking to the medical staff for her, and eating crappy hospital food.

One day she said to me,

“I love you. You're my reward for everything I've had to go through in my life and all my suffering.”

I cried when she said it. I'm crying now just repeating it.

I lost her but even so, I wouldn't change anything. It was what it was because it was what it was.

Those words were the sweetest I've ever heard and I will carry and honour them forever.

Pole mdau.I had the same experience with my wife, lakini yetu iliisha vizuri.Fibroids zilileta anaemia. My wife had to go through difficult medical procedures, ambazo baadaye zilimletea fistula.Ilibidi nibaki na watoto, kwanza.Walipoondoka kwenda shule, nikasafiri kimyakimya kumsuprise aliko hospitali.Wife alifurahi mno.Seing her happy made me happy .Alisema asante kwa kunijali na kunipenda .Maneno hayo yalinifurahisha mno.
