Finance Minister Henry Musasizi has told MPs that government must demonstrate that existing tax revenues are being used efficiently before asking Ugandans to contribute more.

“Every shilling lost through wastage, inefficiency or misuse places additional pressure on the taxpayer,” Musasizi said.

He said revenue collection must go hand in hand with accountability and responsible use of public funds.
