Jaribu kukumbuka mlipoanza darasa la kwanza.. Darasani mlikuwa wengi zaidi ya 100 mpaka mnaingia class kwa zamu, wengine mchana wengine asubuhi. Ilipofika Darasa la Nne Mkapita Wachache Kama 80 Hivi, Darasa La Saba Mkafaulu Kama 20 (drop outs 80 kwa primary).
Hao Ishirini Mkabahatika wote kuenda sekondari, kidato cha pili mkapita 15, Kidato Cha nne mkafaulu 10. (drop out 10, ordinary Level).
Advanced level mkaingia 8 mkamaliza kidato cha sita na kufaulu 5 (drop outs 5 advanced level).

Elimu ya juu kutokana na gharama mkaingia watatu, sijui mlimaliza wangapi.

The point is toka watu 100 wamefika watatu, 97 wote wamedondoka. Wako wapi? Nani aliewajali? Japo kuwapa elimu mbadala?.. Elimu hii aloiacha mkoloni haikuwa na lengo kutunufaisha bali ku-recruit wafanyakazi wachache, makarani na messengers. Hao waingereza walotuachia now wanatumia mfumo mwingine.

Yanayotokea hayana tija, sijui kama ni mfumo, haiwezekani watu wote mkaenda mpaka huko juu. Hata hao wakoloni walioturithisha mfumo huu, na wao hawautumii, lakini drop-out ziko pale pale, labda tu % drop-out zao zaweza kuwa tofauti! Utaratibu wa kuweka viwango vya ufaulu ni wa sehemu zote, ambapo ukishindwa kuvifikia inabidi utafute another channel nje ya mfumo rasmi wa elimu. Elimu mbadala zipo nyingi (nje ya mfumo rasmi), tatizo ni uchumi wetu, sio mfumo wa elimu.

Nielezee kidogo kuhusu kikomo cha akili..
Hebu fikiria, wanafunzi 100 mnafanya mtihani. Mazingira yale yale, mtihani ule ule, lakini wewe unashindwa kupata passmark iliyowekwa na mamlaka husika, wenzio wanafaulu. Unarudia mtihani unachemsha tena! Hicho ni kikomo cha akili yako. Do something else.

Nakubaliana na wewe kuwa lazima pawepo pass mark au kiwango fulani cha ufaulu... Lakini je kama alikuwa very bright anafaulu kwa daraja A kila mara lakini siku ya mtihani wa kidato cha nne akapata tatizo kidogo hakufanya mtihani katika right state of mind, akapata maksi si nzuri akapewa Division four, huoni kuwa daraja A la huko nyuma alijamsaidia??

Lengo hapa ni kujua je haiwezekani kupunguza hizo bumps kila baada ya muda mfupi? Na pia mitihani ya mwishi ya taifa isiwe 100% deciders??

Tulienda adv 2 tu.kwa bahati tulifaulu wote ingawa jamaagu kabaki sijui kama kaingia chuo.

Solution sio serikali ni wahusika wenyewe na vipato vya walezi wao.

Kwa mfano kuna mashrika mengi sasa yanatoa msaada wa ada kwa private lakini watu hawahangaiki kutafuta msaada ndio maana wanabaki nyuma.
Huu mfumo upo palepale mimi nipo abroad tena huku ukikosa tu marks zinazotakiwa hamna kujuana tafuta shughuli nyingine

Sawa kuna wachache wako hivyo lakini ni ukomo wa akili za darasani, je hicho kingine unachoshauri afanye, kipo kweli? Mazingira Yameandaliwa?

Kuna nchi zinazo iwa the TIGER nations (Hong Kong, Singapoor, Taiwan na South Korea). HIzi nchi hazikua na natural ressources yoyote na walicho fanya ni kuinvest in people. Education, private sector etc. na ndio siri ya development yao. hawaku develop kwa foreign aids wala hata kwa foreign models. they only educated their nation and took off...
