I really cant with this govt!!

Tanzanias total rail cost
1.5bn$ to build same distance as Kenyas Rail

Of the 4bn$ used to construct
Mombasa Kenya Railway

2.3bn$ is unaccounted for....yaani

A 1700km Rail from Lamu through Garissa to Moyale would still have been enough for the price of SGR 1.....
WE WILL BE PAYING 5bn$ by 2030 to china for funding this Rail!!....

Am really done with Uthamaki

The railway levy fund is not chinies money used to build the rail. This is other money not part of the $3.6B chinies loan used for building the rail. The levy find is Kenyan tax money collected for the purpose of the rail. It was 1.5% vat charge charged on all imported goods.

Anyway, it was supposed to pay for land compensation and the extra money was supposed to start repaying back the chinies loan, that means if we were serious, we could have paid at least 60% of the chinies loan by now...by 2019 we could have fully settled the loan with that levy fund alone. And the economy wouldn't even feel a pinch as the current levy fund has not adversely affected I.portation of goods

Or better yet, if we were really really serious, we could have built the whole SGR on levv fund only. The economy wouldn't even feel a pinch as the current levy fund has not adversely affected importation of goods (no one is complaining). After that we could have used same levy fund to build light rails in Nairobi and anotherone in Mombasa, roads , dams and fresh water connection among other development projects

I can see so many "we could", the truth is, so long as corruption, tribalism, impunity are not part of National anthem, the country shall continue to be ..man eat man society..

Si ndo maana NEMC wanataka kubomoa nyumba na structure zote zilizojengwa 70m kingo ya mto Msimbazi (na mito mingineyo) kuanzia Pugu forest (river source) mpaka Salender (river mouth) kuondoa river overflowing! Kama unajua hydrology huwezi shangaa kilichotokea. Nadhani sasa mtaelewa nia yao nzuri.

Kumbuka haya mabasi yanapita kwenye barabara zilizokuepo, tofauti ni kwamba ndani ya barabara hizo kuna lane za BRT, hakujajengwa barabara tofauti za BRT, pia sehemu iliyojaa maji ni jangwani na hakuna daraja wala barabara iliyozolewa na maji, ila maji yalijaa karibu Dar yote ilikumbwa na mafuriko yaliyodumu kama saa mbili hivi, pale jangwani ni mto unaoingia baharini kwa hiyo maji yalijaa sana, na hili tatizo ni la miaka yote hata kabla ya Tanzania kupata uhuru, ufubuzi wa Jangwani ni kujenga barabara ya juu toka Magomeni hadi fire, ambayo ni ghali sana kwa sasa sio rahisi kwa nchi kugharimia huo mradi, ila baada ya massa mawili, maji yalikwisha na hakuna daraja wala barabara iliyozolewa, hiyo inaonyesha uimara wa ujenzi wa sehemu ile.
