Such a challenge to our youths. We should become a society of runners. I have been panting and huffing for 5km but this mama is doing a 42km. A first lady and far older than me..... I take the challenge mama and raising my bar.

Hizi zinaisha saa ngapi na zinapeperushwa na runinga gani?

Yes! What every impoverished Kenyan needs is the first lady and a small battalion of aides to go to London, on tax payers money, to walk-shuffle-in a marathon.

This inspires every Kenyan to purchase a plane ticket to participate in the London or any other international Marathon. What a waste of tax payers' money. There are hundreds of mouths that could have been fed by the millions that the lady and her small battalion are wasting in this adventure.

As expected the usual suspects are celebrating this wasteful exercise.

I don't know what your issue is here, but I guess mama's intentions were not to inspire youths into becoming marathoners. But this inspires everyone to learn the art of perseverance that brings hope. She is doing this for a cause while haters like you are out there "marathoning" on your keyboards with hostility.

She was running to raise funds for children living with HIV/AIDS!

She was running to raise funds for children living with HIV/AIDS!

Does anyone know much has been raised so far? How much did this elaborate trip cost the tax payers?

It might be exciting to claim that she is the first African first lady to complete the London Marathon, but I am more interested in the cost-benefit analysis, and not the cult of personality.

For me the act of her sacrifice and endurance is all that matters. Whether people chose to donate or not is one
thing she has no control over. It's a challenge to Kenyans that we can choose to wallow in our bitterness or do something extra-ordinary for humanity.

Where did you get this one from? She was running to help buy 47 mobile clinics in a bid to reduce preventable deaths of pregnant women. To Mekatili by last evening she had raised Kshs 250M . her target is Kshs 500m The trip to London some unreliable sources say, cost Kshs 56m. Do you cost benefit analysis and see whether you have the same result. That every shilling worth of expenditure is expected to generate Kshs10 for her cause. Who gains

You're quite right, my bad....I made the wrong reference. However, she did run for children living with HIV/AIDS when she did the half marathon in Kenya.
