TANZIA Ugandan Comedian Kapere Lufotose Dies

Ugandan comedian and National Unity Platform (Opposition) Die hard Yokana Mbuuse, popularly known as Kapere Lufotose, has died.

Entertainment journalist Kasuku said Kapere passed away at a hospital in Buddo. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Kapere was a prominent figure in Uganda's comedy industry and was previously associated with the Amarula Family comedy group. In 2015, he also announced ambitions to join politics.
Earlier this year, he spoke publicly about financial difficulties and feeling sidelined by fellow comedians, particularly over being left out of comedy shows.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia Nakandi, popularly known as Mama Trump, and their children.

Tributes have since started pouring in, with many Ugandans expressing shock over his sudden death. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.​
