Spurs are favourites to sign Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, but face stiff competition from an array of Premier League clubs.
Leicester City, Everton and West Ham are all set to rival Mauricio Pochettino's side in the running for the 23-year-old Kenyan, according to HITC Sport. Wanyama is one of the Saints' prized assets and Ronald Koeman is unlikely to want to let the midfielder leave, especially not without receiving a hefty fee.
Wanyama has told Southampton he wishes to leave the club and will not be signing a new deal to stay on at St Mary's, as he feels now is the right time for him to progress with his career.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has already made contact with Southampton about the potential transfer, with Mauricio Pochettino very keen to add him to his side's midfield.
The news comes as speculation mounts about Koeman, who could also be tempted to leave Southampton with Everton interested in the Dutch manager.
Should Wanyama decide to leave the club he would be one in a long line of players who have opted to leave Southampton for a new challenge.
Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert all left for Liverpool two years ago while last summer Spurs secured the signature of Toby Alderweireld - who had been on loan for the season at St Mary's.
He might not be the only player to leave this summer either, with Sadio Mane rumoured to be attracting a lot of attention from top clubs, although a price tag of £50m has been placed on the speedy attacker.
