I am looking at the Tanzanian Intelligence Agency with their marvel and outstanding performance and I am left with only one question....What is their role in whatever is going on now.

Yes.As a nation we are at the point where everything is not what it is nor what it seems to be and people need answers to questions that should never have been asked in the first place.

My question today is on the role of our security machineries in the current political conondrum

I concur with you except the refraining bit is a bit too difficult since given the circumstances and the times in which we live it serves a higher purpose to discus and not disclose their operations in as far as the good of our nation is concerned.
I for one strongly believe that these discussion, are the best source of intelligence for that matter.
I am therefore of the opinion that we should discus the matters in as far as the law allows except for those with privy info; they should refrain from disclosing the information to the public

. Which conundrum, quagmire or rather quandary the nation is in it today than yesterday?
This will help some of us watu wa vijijini to know on how to respond to your queries accordingly.
So as avoid direct attack, disgust or displeasure on TISS.
This is my personal take though!

As far as I am told their role is to advice the Government of the day. If the recipient of whatever does not ACT as per their advice or recommendations, It becomes therefore NONE of their business
As far as Katiba is concerned they are not an enforcement agency. per se.
