What is your reading on the highlights below?

RED: Mr. Lowassa is no longer a CCM member, CCM is history to him, he is not on his own, he has party to represent and a union for that matter. There is absolutely no reason for him to walk away from UKAWA's goals. Lowassa is a reasonable person of sound mind. Dr.Slaa came to CDM and ran for President and he stood for CDM's policies. Steven Wasira, Makongoro Nyerere and others were vying for CCM's presidency, whose bidding did you think they were representing?

GREEN: The President's powers remain intact according to 1977 constitution until the new constitution get into effect, if it happens the 'next day' then those powers are going to be reduced with immediate effect..but I know that will not be a quick process...However you have to remember that CCM never intended to change the 1977 constitution.....

BLUE: He made a decision to join CDM, just like Dr. Slaa from CCM to CDM. 'When in Rome you do as Romans do' saying is also applicable in politics....

CYAN: Every party has its own policies...from Lowassa's perspective you wouldn't expect him to agree with all CDM stances and disagree with CCM's...During the new constitution debate, he made it clear that ultimately it is going to be up to the citizens to decide what kind of constitution they want....

VIOLET: May be you should ask...Did CDM had a written 'pledge' in place when they allowed Dr. Slaa to run for president?

ORANGE: When Kikwete was running for President, did you fasten your seat belt? because Lowassa was the main player behind Kikwete's successful victory by more than 80% in 2005 general elections...

I will be terse in response since I believe we will not change anything:

All comments with the exception of GREEN can be answered simply by saying:

"If the presidential flag bearer has been organically groomed from within the party over a period of time - e.g., Slaa, Kikwete, Magufuli, you name him - then party policies become part and parcel of his/her aspirations - they do not need to pledge."

When you have an implant from another party (who joins within two months of elections) questions need to be asked. When we don't even question his true motives for his crossover then we shouldn't complain when opponents of UKAWA call Lowasa supporters "Wildebeests or Nyumbu."

GREEN: We probably need a constitutional scholar to clarify this BUT I am pretty sure you cannot apply a new law (new UKAWA constitution) retroactively. You will have to convince me that this is constitutionally feasible.

Lets clear this, We have Prof. Lipumba who after decades in CUF decided controversially that it is no longer important to listen to others democratically, the same applies to Dr. Slaa with all those opprobrious brickbats against CDM even after spending almost 20 years in the party...Today, we can question their aspirations all along....the point is, according to CDM's constitution every member regardless of the time of entry has the right to apply for positions within the party....Politics is a game of chance....

Well, Dr. Slaa orchestrated Lowassa's arrival in CDM for his stronger support in order to win this election...CDM asked Dr. Slaa in 2010 to seek the post of presidency to win the election...Magufuli is campaigning out there to become president...Politicians shift between political parties, there is nothing unique in Lowassa's crossover....I think you are less knowledgeable in politics and psephology....Time for Change is a song that top charts now, that's why the guys in Green call others names.....

What one have to understand is that Lowassa is going to lead with the existing constitution until a new constitution sets in...changing constitution is a process and not a one day event...what we also know for sure is that 1977 constitution is going to be changed...How? Why hurry? Lets get CCM out of office first....

I don't know how legally binding those pledges would be once in office but it will, at least, have put him on notice that they are watching him.

I am glad we have Psychoanalysts among us.

BUT NO - I don't fear change, I embrace change.

What I don't want is to be led into change blindfolded.

Let us not fight last wars. I am not rooting for neither Lipumba nor Slaa. They are gone, out, finito. I also think I have well established the fact that I would like CCM to be out of the presidential chair so that they can be humbled and work well for the people in the future.

What I was saying here is that UKAWA members have been taken for granted by the party elites. No one from above told members why Lowasa and not Safari or Baregu or Lissu or anybody else. Maybe ordinary members are week and meek BUT this is an insult.

They could have at least humored us by letting Lowasa pledge allegiance to the aspirations of the parties and, more importantly, to its members - but no. Even a father who is going to remodel his children rooms would call them and explain to them why he is remodeling. For ordinary UKAWA members - nothing. It has been decided from above, no need for explanation. Now this may sit well with everyone else but it bothers me. Oh well - who Am I?

Why Lowassa? Lissu gave an answer to that question earlier on the day Lowassa was given CDM’s presidential candidacy forms…..Saed Kubenea gave an answer when addressing a crowd in Kyela constituency.

Just like a soccer team, when the manager recruits new players, these new players are going to join the existing team and work towards the common goal of lifting the trophy at the end of the season….when the existing player is benched for a new player it is always obvious that the new player’s quality and performance is greater….

In short sufficient explanations was provided that enabled us to decide to continue supporting CDM’s endeavor…..

You are absolutely right about one thing, I am a total novice when it comes to politics. I just hear that billions and billions of money exchange hands and I don't know why. BUT I know one thing very well. It is when someone is taking me for a ride. I happen to have a sixth sense on this one.

Well I heard that too….I don’t always buy hearsays…Politics is a stragety, getting CCM out is not easy, it is like uprooting an old baobab tree, it needs even a robust strategy.

You seem to be sure of what you are saying. I hope you are a constitutional law scholar. I will take your word for it. I have my doubts.

Jack Daniel's, in our culture, if you respect someone you give them a heads-up about what is coming. These belated explanations are acceptable for the majority weak BUT not respectful - what to do?

I think the focus now should be on how to get Lowasa elected. Our back-and-forth bickering is really not helpful to the cause.

When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don't throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer. There is light at the end of the tunnel, I can see it and it is not a train.

Jack Daniel's asked you for clarifications on post 34 and 41, instead you chose to avoid replying some stuffs.

Power is useless when into the hands of a person who doesn't know how to use it. Power is dangerous when into the hands of a person who misuses it. But power can work wonders when into the hands of a person, who puts the country BEFORE HIMSELF.

It should be noted that everybody is fighting for power. What they don't understand is that, everyone is blessed with power e.g. My power to vote one in or out. The power to bring a change in somebody else's life for the better or the worst.

However, God has given us the power to rule our own lives. Now it is our duty to make best of it and choose Magufuri because he distinguishes himself as a selfish power seeker amongst power mongers who defected from CCM BECAUSE THEIR HUNGER FOR POWER WAS NOT SATISFIED

Agreed with no reservations.

Along with tremendous power comes tremendous responsibility. One cannot function without the other. However, in today's world, everybody wants power, but nobody wants to accept respobsibility, the case of those that defected from CCM. NOW THEY ARE SHUNNING AWAY FROM COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY, in campaign rallies blaming their once colleagues for r the country's economy! I will not vote them in.

There is a difference between power, leadership, Authority and Influence, Don't confuse the four.

However, God has given us the power to rule our own lives. Now it is our duty to make best of it and choose Magufuri because he distinguishes himself as a selfish power seeker amongst power mongers who defected from CCM BECAUSE THEIR HUNGER FOR POWER WAS NOT SATISFIED

Now you are lost in the jungle, I knew you're going to confuse things here. First of all, you've to understand that Magufuli and Lowassa are both seeking leadership positions.

Here is my rough definitions: Power-is the ability to do something the specific way you want it done by any means necessary. Leadership is convincing and motivating your team to make things happen and painting a vision for others to follow.

Secondly, I know of Magufuli and not Magufuri.

Thirdly, our way of choice should be beyond candidacy and political parties, we ought to think about the path that this country will pursue after October.
