Originally hailed for its new and unique design when it launched a decade ago, the PT Cruiser hasn't caught on and its owners have suffered through huge recalls. The car is notoriously uncomfortable and has become "a stale joke".

 


A car with a serious identity crisis, the VehiCROSS doesn't know whether it was meant for country roads or city streets. Says Cars.com: "The fanglike grille uprights made it look like it would eat you, which was scary mainly because inside the VehiCROSS was a place no one wanted to be."




Jaguar's botched attempt to appeal to downmarket buyers led to this stinker. As Cars.com points out, today you can go out and by a 2002 X-Type for less than a Honda Civic from the same year.




While it's decidedly diminutive and gets 41 miles per gallon, Jalopnik still the Smart ForTwo called the "world's fastest German golf cart."



A smaller version of the Hummer H1, this still remains the arch enemy of environmentalists everywhere.
