The True Patriots Should Take a Stand and Walk!

Tanzania yetu ni zaidi ya inavyoonekana. Namuunga mkono Mkandara - gone are the days when there was true patriotism. Hivi sasa viongozi na walio kwenye nafasi nzuri nchini wanadai "pangu pakavu tia mchuzi zaidi." Maskini wa Tanzania anawaza kesho atakula nini na mwanawe ama mjukuu kama anaye! Naam, Mpendazoe amejaribu kuonyesha kwa vitendo alivyochoshwa na mambo haya na anavyojali maslahi ya wananchi maskini kuliko hadhi, hivi sasa watu wanamhukumu, wanamkwepa na kumkejeli badala ya kumpongeza. Hii ndio Tanzania ya leo.

Kama kungekuwepo kweli na hao wazalendo wa kutosha Bungeni, basi wangeweza kumshtaki Rais. Katiba yetu ina kipengele kinachoruhusu Bunge kumshtaki Rais kama ufanyaji kazi wake umekuwa mbaya.

Katiba yetu haina kipengele cha Bunge kupitisha azimio la kutokuwa na imani na Rais. Ina kipingele cha Bunge kupitisha azimio la kutokuwa na imani na Waziri Mkuu, lakini sio na Rais. Katiba yetu iliundwa 1977 wakati wa chama kimoja. Hadi leo CCM, ambayo ndiyo iliunda katiba hiyo, inakataa kuweko na kikao cha kuunda katiba mpya.

Kifupi basi ni hivi: kama Bunge lingeona hali ilivyo mbaya, lingekataa kupitisha mswada wa bajeti, na badala yake litumie uwezo wake wa kikatiba kumshtaki Rais kwa utendaji mbaya wa kazi. Suluhisho sio kutimka Dodoma. Ni kutumia Dodoma kuwatimua walio Magogoni.

Rev nimekupata mkuu, you sound exactly like the reality "IF WE DON'T CHANGE WE WILL REMAIN THE SAME". But very unfortunate ndani ya Tz it seems people are not ready for change. And those who think and feel being part of the change and that it is important and has to happen now are somehow defeated.

We have pple who think and dream that one day JK, Pinda, Sita etc. may one day bring the change we want.

We have the opposition who will alwayz blame CCM as to why change is not happening.

We have the masses who think to bring about change should be the work of Lipumba, Mbowe, Mrema, Maalim etc.

We have the so called elders who think and believe there is no need for a change.

We have voters who do not belive on the power of their votes.

We have young men and women who think ikitaka kupiga bao mapema basi jiunge au shabikia CCM.

We have people in the society who think you and I are not qualified to comment on the ill-functioning of the govt just b'coz we are not there.

And the list goes on and on and on!

But I believe this election will usher something different; something that will change our politics forever. But are we willing to embrace it au ndio tutajipanga kama hawa vijana wa UDOM?

But a transformative election happens when people are fed up and have someone to rally around. Who is the charismatic figure that people can rally around this late? We were relying on Slaa but he has thrown in the towel.

Tell me Mzee Mwanakijiji, are we to replace JK with another "mwenzetu"? Si wataendelea kulindana tu?

Mzee, I always admire your optimism! Natamani Watanzania wengi tungelikuwa kama wewe nchi yetu ingelipiga hatua kubwa sana kisiasa na kimaendeleo. Kama vijana wasomo waelewa wa mambo kama hao wa UDOM wameweza kufanya hivyo sioni 'mwanga' utatoka wapi kwanza kwa wanasiasa watakaowania Ubunge kuweza kupatikana wale ambao tunawahitaji ili kuweza kuleta mabadiliko. Pia kama wapigakura watakuwa ndio walewale wanaorubuniwa kwa vijizawadi vya kukidhi njaa, kuuona 'mwanga' huo ni ndoto.

Ebu tuache Unafiki hapa. Hakuna true Patroit Tanzania nzima acha hao Wabunge. Na wala msitake sana kuwazungumzia hao vijana wa UDOM kwa sababu wameandamana kumtaka JK achukue form..Hawa ni wanachama wa CCM mlitaka vijana hawa waandamane kwa kipi?. Na kama swala ni kupinga CCM au JK, have U done so?...mbona hamjaandamana nyie.

Tena kama kweli tungekuwa tumejipanga vizuri, Uchaguzi wa kusimama JK ndio mzuri zaidi kwetu kwa sababu CCM wana msimamisha mtu DHAIFU..hii ingekuwa advantage kwetu, lakini badala ya kujipanga ndio mna watazama wengine wanaotimiza wajibu wa haki yao ya Kidemokrasia kujiandaa. Hivi kweli mlitegemea vijana wa CCM waandamane kumuunga mkono Zitto wakati wakichukua kadi za CCM...basi watakuwa vichaa hawa!

Wakuu zangu tatizo ni sisi wenyewe. Tumeweka sana akili zetu kutazama wengine wanafanya nini hali sisi wenyewe tumekaa kijiweni tukinywa kahawa na kashata..Hapa JF ni kijiweni tu hatuna tofauti na gumzo la baoni...kinachohesabika ni nguvu unayotumia wewe kuhakikisha CCM na JK hawarudi kuongoza mwaka 2010..

Na hakika nikirudi kwa hoja ya Rev. Kishoka, bado tuna miss point kubwa sana hapa. A true Patroit hawezi kugombea kiti chochote ktk Utawala mbovu acha mbali tu walk away. Huwezi kutegemea Mandela angegombea Ubunge ktk Utawala wa Kaburu, sijawahi kusikia a true Patroit anajihusisha na shughuli za serikali dhalimu iwe hata serikali za mitaa. Kama kweli nyote mnapinga Utawala wa CCM na mnauona ni dhalimu msijiandikishe kugombea chochote hata iwe Ubunge kwani Kihistoria Udhalimu huleta Upinzani na maana halisi ya Upinzani ni kuwa against..

Lakini hakuna chama wala mwananchi anayekuwabali kuitwa Mpinzani kwa maana ya kuwa against...WHY?...why mnakataa kuitwa Wapinzani ikiwa mnayaona mabaya yote ya utawala wa CCM, najua mtajibu mnatumia uhuru wa demokrasia kumbe ni WOGA mtupu wa kukatiwa nyaya zenu wenyewe, lakini watu wengine wakitumia uhuru huo huo wa demokrasia kama yenu kuunga mkono CCM hao ni wasaliti..Lini tutajitazama sisi wenyewe na kuangalia tumefanya nini against utawala uliopo? sisi kwa sababu changes zitatokana na sisi sio wao. - Aaaaah mnchosha jamani.

So, Mkandara, what would you have us do? Perhaps you did not notice it, but you really didn't say what we should do.

I believe that we have been doing what we should have been doing, which is to raise our voices. We raised a rallying cry around those that can really do something about this CCM mess. Asking patriotic MPs to walk away from Dodoma was Rev. Kishoka's way of sticking it up to the party, at this material time. You may not agree with his strategy but that is no excuse to throw mud at all of us.

The youngsters who organised a demonstration to demand that JK be the only candidate are afraid of democracy. Why should JK not be challenged? Some of us are deeply saddened by the ease with which some of our youths could be manipulated. Why must we have stooges and bootlickers even among our college youths?

An important problem keeps nagging. I have raised it up but no one, not even you Mkandara, has offered any suggestions. Who do we expect to rally around at this late hour? Around whom will the opposition to the big and ineffective government of Kikwete crystallize? It is not possible to win against Kikwete if you do not propose an alternative to him.

Mkuu rev. unajua naifananisha hii na enzi zile mipira ya kisasa (maarufu kama gozi) ilivyokuwa adimu. Mwenye gozi alikuwa ndiyo final say. Mtu yeyote akijifanya mbabe basi mwenye gozi anabeba gozi lake na kuondoka. Kumrudisha ilki muendelee kucheza gozi inabidi mumbembeleze yule mbabe atoke ili mwenye gozi arudi mchezo uendelee.

Sasa basi wabunge wetu na sisi wananchi tunashindwa kutambua kwamba sisi ndiyo wenye gozi, as for this scenario ilibidi baadhi ya wabunge wabebe gozi au basi hata kutishia ili mawaziri wamwambie serikali aidha atoke au aache kucheza rafu.

Watu wako kimaslahi zaidi...wabunge wa Bunge hili la Tanzania hawana nafasi ya kugoma kwa sasa.Tunapoelekea Uchaguzi Mkuu mwaka huu every coin ya posho counts kwa kila mbunge kwani wao wako kimaslahi binafsi zaidi.Unafikiri wakipoteza hizo pesa za posho na huku wakijua wanaweza kuwa na ushindani nje kwenye majimbo yao na kukosa ubunge nani anaweza kudirika ku-risk kupoteza posho zake ambazo kimsingi zinaweza kuwa za mwisho?

Mimi nafikiri tungekuwa na movements za vijana tu,najaribu kufikiria namna ambavyo kampeni ya kuhakikisha kila kijana mwenye umri wa kupiga kura anapata taarifa juu ya maovu ya serikali na utendaji wake mbovu.Ni katika namna hii tu nafikiri tuna nafasi ya kubadili matokeo ya chaguzi nyingi hasa za ubunge na kwa namna fulani kutengeneza bunge ambalo linaweza kuwa na sauti ya wabunge wa upinzani pia kwa kuwa namba yao itakuwa imeongezekana kwa kiasi kikubwa!

Brother... Ain't throwing mud to no one here.... It's just a matter of reminding members of our role rather than play a mind game..I don't know if U have noticed...We, here at JF are the one throwing mud against the wall and hope some of it's gonna stick...

Now U tell me, where does UDOM fits in here? are we amused of whatever they (CCM) up to even if they excercise their right to choose...Can't quite understand...They are members of the ruling party we call upon...besides, they are just a handful out of the all University total number of students who joined the parade..yet we cry out loud as if among us there those (traitors) who chose JK for a reason beyond his capability..This is bull brother, we are loosing it!

Actually, while they're quickening their pace, as if to negate any effect the coming October election might have, we on the other hand expect them to stand against their own..(mud to stick), Ouite the opposite from the entire oppositon team to come together, be on the same page and pace, share in the same vision for the benefit of our nation..

There are several things that we can do, the ball is about to start rolling. Everyone can look at themselves and ask, "Am I slapping mud against the wall or helping the opposition to win this election...

First among others is to stop the blame game and take action by re-establish the most fundamental relationships with those who are on our side. Join the force by taking membership of any opposition party.. I beleive 2/3 of JF members are'nt member of any party... that's sad!... yet they're very critical of politicians even those defending our interest..

It does matter what political party they represent as long as they stand with us, tired of being part of the messed up government. WE should fear no one, as CCM will try to convince us that some of the opposition leaders are on their payroll.. Let them be, we will send them to the frontline of infantry...fighting face to face with their employer whenever possible. For I am convinced now more than ever that they CCM are in a - Victory now at all costs mode, and we're supposed to plan ahead for the unpretty-case scenario…

Despair is the worst sin ever. It is irreversible. Wait for surprises, Dr Slaa is not indispensable. Just because we are not talking it does not mean, nothing is happening or is being done.

However, as someone already said, don't only think of the top. If you do not have a good rank and file, you are bound to be defeated. It is a general who knows no military strategic planning who will venture into your kind of proposal without proper strategy.

JF we have all the strength, qualities that we need. Let us pick the forms for PM's and let us make a strong rang and file and we shall achieve our desired destination safely.

Unajitahidi sana kueleza ukweli kuwa watu tunaojidai ma-strategic analyzer humu JF tukisubiri eti ma-patriots wa-walkout huku wenyewe tumejificha nyuma ya computer zetu ndio hao hao wa kwanza kubeza wale wanaojaribu angalau kuyafanya kwa vitendo yale tunayohubiri.

Dear Dr. Slaa,

I am extremely thankful and humbled by your response. It shows that you care about what ordinary Tanzanians think..

If I sound desperate, it's because I am. Why should I not feel that way while I have watched, with much hope, a nation rallying around an extremely capable and charismatic figure, you Sir, but only to have the rug pulled under them?

You know, better that I do, that the President of Tanzania is the "first part" of our parliament (Articles 62 (1), 63 (1)- (2)). We cannot win without winning the Presidency, and your candidacy is, at this time, the only thing that can wrestle the Presidency out of the clutches of CCM. No other opposition leader has the national recognition and respect that is adequate to rout CCM at this time.

UNIP and KANU were very powerful parties. Had Chiluba and Mwai Kibaki waited to organize the people more and more, Zambia and Kenya could have remained mired in the mismanagement of their previous regimes up to today!

CCM has been badly weakened by its mismanagement of the economy and the gluttony of its leaders. For over a year, we have been looking at you as the person who would save us from this abyss. But just when we thought you would come forward and offer yourself to the nation, you turn us down! Are we to not feel anything about that?

I refuse to believe that you are resigned to letting CCM run us down for a farther term of five years. My hope is tickled, a little, by your allusion to a coming surprise. But what could that be?

I am indeed consoled by your patriotism and encouraged to see you always at a front line when it comes to issues of 'Maslahi ya watanzania maskini na fukara', hakika sinta despair and will wait to see the country of my dream!

I however have one thing in me and would want to encourage those who are still dreaming for our good future that; shetani anapotaka kumdondosha mtu ili gravity imvunje vunje asibaki hata vumbi lake basi huwa anampandisha juuu sana! The way things look like is as if there is no hope for the good future we most of us believe in, lakini ukweli ni kwamba there is and there is a very promising future for the children of Tz; thanks for being part of this move towards our promised land!

Thanks for being One amongst Meshack, Abednego and Shadrack of this country; let the King and the members of his jury intensify the fire to the extent that it shall have enough capacity to slate them up the soonest they will throw us into! I wish you were direct and not speaking in tongues hoping people will pick up your message.

I may be blessed to be analytical and have ability to construct an argument, but that does not mean that I have to be a politician.

I am not whinning or simply venting and hide before a computer and keyboard! I am doing what is my civic responsibility, constitutional right and patriotic duty to be a critic.

I have no intention to become an individual running for any office even though I have love and passion for politics.

Just as I have inspired many and gain followers of my sermons, my job is to empower the thoughs and minds of many. if this is may calling, this is what I will continiue to do. I am not selfish or have any personal interest but to see a better Tanzania for everyone!

I share my passion and love for my country, its development, its welfare and mostly its sovereignty with everyone, without limitations or condiions that they have to have a certain ideology.

My Call is for fairness, openess, justice and rights to all Tanzania. My criticism is a way to force people to hold themselves accountable and hold the systme accountable, responsible and become proactive to do what is right bases on the World we live in today and what will be of the world and our country tomorrow.

I have been harsh to both rulling party and the opposition, identifying tactical errors or judgments, poor leadership, lack of effectiveness, poor efficiency, lackadaisical, lazy and unmotivated leadership which is corrupt and ineptittude.

So I participate equally to the Kujenga Taifa kwa hali, mali na mawazo and I do not have to hold an office to do that. It can be done, I am doing my moral obligation and duty and play my part behind a keyboard.

Duh mkuu wangu hii hotuba kama ungeitoa juu ya jukwaa la kupigania Urais (ukiondoa sehemu ndogo tu) basi bila shaka ingewekwa ktk moja ya Hotuba maarufu za viongozi..Yes, nimekukubali bob..kitu kimoja tu mkuu wangu - To be critic kwa serikali kiziwi ni sawa na kunampigia gitaa mbuzi.

Nimeanza kuelewa siasa za Bongo na hakika haisaidii kitu kabisa isipokuwa unachoweza kufanya ni kuwaelekeza wale waliopo tayari kukusikiliza. Nao ni hawa kina Dr.Slaa, Zitto, na wengineo ambao yasemekana pia ni wanachama wa JF.. Tukianza kuwa critical kwa michango yao nao wataweka pamba masikioni na tutakuwa tunafanya kazi ya bure kabisa.

Mimi nafikiri la muhimu ni kuwapa nguvu ya kimawazo, tuwape bega la kufutia machungu wanayoyapata kwani kile tusichokiweza sisi wao ndio wamechukua mzigo wooote. Dr.Slaa anastahili kila sifa na kupewa nguvu zaidi hasa toka kwa wasomi kama nyie. Na hakika muungane naye kutuwezesha sote kwani unapokataa kujiunga na siasa hali uwezo unao inatupa shaka wengine ambao kwamba tunababaisha tu ili mradi kunakucha..

Kuhusu surprise mkuu wangu hata mimi domo wazi, tunasubiri!

Felister cautions that when the devil wants to destroy you, he lifts you up very high first. The devil in question is, naturally, CCM. Or do I err to assume that? Felister is speaking in difficult parables as this particular devil has not lifted our leader (Dr. Slaa) high.

I have said before, and I will say it again, we celebrate 50 years of Independence next year. It will truly be a shame to have to celebrate that with the same people who misruled us for 50 years still in the driver's seat!

The optimism of Felister notwithstanding, our people are no longer hopeful. And that will not change if we do not change the current state of affairs. Would it not be wonderful to start the next 50 years with a new ruling party and a new, and more believable, occupant of our Ikulu?
