Tanzania will soon start to manufacture its own tractors and power tillers, thanks to $ 110 million loan from Polish government.
One of the investors from Poland, Julius Zellah, said the factory will be built in October and will be situated in Kibaha.
“The returns of the investment will be after 40 years. The price of tractors will be cheap. The government of Poland will provide funds for the project,” he said.
He added that the factory would have eight service centres.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment, Dr. Adelhelm Meru, noted that the move was in line with the government’s industrialization drive.
“We will improve the industrial sector in the country and we believe that there are various investors out there who are willing to grab the opportunities,” he said.

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment, Dr Adrelhem Meru disclosed this in Dar es Salaam yesterday when he met with a team of investors from Poland in Dar es Salaam.
He said the government is determined to bring industrial development and is inviting investors to invest in the sector.
“We will improve the industrial sector in the country and we believe that there are various investors out there who are willing to grab the opportunities,” he said.
Dr Meru added that a cement factory will be built in Tanga and is expected to employ about 15,000 people upon completion.
According to the PS, a ceramic factory will be built by investors from China and it will also produce quality tiles.
One of the investors from Poland, Julius Zellah said the factory will be built in October, and will be situated in Kibaha.
