Kerry says Syrian strike 'still an option' as Israel awaits 'results, not words' from Russia-US chem deal.

US-Russia deal on Syria will be judged on whether it achieves results, which is “the complete destruction” of Bashar Assad’s chemical weapons stockpiles, Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said.

The US Secretary of State, John Kerry, has arrived in Jerusalem to brief Netanyahu on the agreement he reached with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Geneva on Saturday.

The accord calls on the Syrian government to provide information on its entire chemical arsenal, which will then be utilized by the international inspectors until mid-2014.

US grabbed opportunity to back off, but regime change still ultimate goal in Syria

The objective of the United States remains to bring about regime change regardless of the fact that they have been deterred from an immediate military strike on Syria, Richard Becker an anti-war activist told RT.

Russia and the United States have struck a deal on a framework that will see the destruction or removal of Syria's chemical weapons by mid-2014. Nevertheless, US President Barack Obama warned that America will remain prepared to act if diplomatic efforts fail.

The Syrian army has made advances near the flashpoint city of Aleppo in the north of the country, Press TVreports.

On Tuesday, fierce fighting continued between foreign-backed Takfiri militants and the Syrian soldiers in the region.

The army also secured five villages in the south of city.

The Syrian soldiers' achievement led to the transfer of the first shipment of food and aid to Aleppo.

"The clashes are still ongoing… Despite all the difficulties, we are pressing day and night until we meet our objectives," said a Syrian soldier.
