Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, the Member of Parliament for Kira Municipality, has accused the government of not only “stealing” from Ugandans but also from neighbors.
Speaking before Parliament of Uganda during debate on the proposed 2026/27 national budget, Ssemujju singled out the Democratic Republic of the Congo among the countries he said Uganda owes money, arguing that the government’s financial troubles now stretch beyond its borders.
The outspoken opposition legislator said the country’s continued borrowing and poor financial management are leaving both Ugandans and neighboring nations “crying.”
