I have been craving for a thread from you Karucee, but this one is too big a mountain to scale!And what is more it is too philisophical!You are wondering why people would approach you and speak out their troubles.
First let's go to the psychology of it all.To begin with, you have what we call a magnetic personality:the confidence you radiate, the trustworthiness you exude, the aura of selfsatisfaction you display without you knowing it, all this combined attract people like bees to a flower to confide to you.You describe what they tell you as 'stuff' and 'troubles'.I find this quite normal with people.Life troubles can not be left to accumulate in the chest, they must be poured out to someone who has good ears ie a person with good listening skills.And you happen to have the rare skills of listening.
Now that they have found you out Karucee, there is no escaping it as you hinted.They will broadcast to their wider circle of friends that there is a kind lady around

I have a similar problem ...but mine is different because I don't mix much with people but those few around me make me sad...
