We had an ample time to take crucial measures on Corona virus but our leaders kept on dragging their feet.

One key issue where Magufuli's government messed up, is a refusal to shut down borders allowing the infected to come in

Even up to the moment, foreigners are still coming in and the government is deluding itself thinking that the 14 days quarantine is enough. Let me tell you one thing even a notion of quarantining an infected person inside your own borders is still risky! He can still accidentally pass a virus to someone who he can come in contact with(such as room Cleaners, luggage senders, you name it).

The other thing is Corona virus has proven to be very elusive, you can test a person multiple times and find him negative while he is positive.

What about our testing capacity, can we effectively test all foreigners who come in here?

Apart from that, we made a huge mistake discouraging face masks while it is a testimony from countries which had a battle with virus earlier confirming that wearing masks was a game changer in this struggle.

The government should now take drastic measures to stop unnecessary congregations, Stop vijiwe vya kahawa, stop vikao vya harusi, sherehe

If we must allow people to enter prayer houses let everyone who go in wear mask otherwise should not be allowed to go in

Let people who use public transport wear masks otherwise should not be let in

Distribute Chloroquine to every household and give instructions how to use pills once a person have symptons of Corona. This is important because no enough hospitals or medical staff to attend everyone.

We hardly have only Three days up to a week to act, beyond that we are in big big trouble.

Statistics are not in our favor, we have seen countries which recorded very few cases in their early days of outbreak BUT a month later cases are in tens of thousands. Tanzania is not an Island, Stubbornness of our Leaders will cost us dearly.

I have seen the of how Italy, France and USA have been struggling to treat the corona virus victims. These are first world countries with good health care systems with the best doctors,,,,how will our non existent healthcare system be able to cope with the explosion of covid-19 transmission?

We are gonna suffer as country, the negative effect on the economy is going to be massive than if the govt had taken desperate measures to seal the country and stop people from affected countries to come in. The beauty of it is even the leaders are not immune to this desease ,the can't run to Europe or USA for treatment,,,.

Week mbili tatu zijazo tutaongea lugha moja wote.

Please keep your memory out of worries brother. We're told that Africans are Covid-19 resistant. First mistake.

Our immune system, is not just too strong but also feared by Covid-19. Don't be coward, Chapa Kazi. Absurd! Absurdity! Second Mistake!

It's from this logic I remember the Maji Maji Resistance, with the magic Water from the Traditional Medicine Man, Kinjikitile Ngwale. "Just say Maji, then the bullets will turn into Water".

Never close Boarders, just wash your hands, you will then set yourself free from Covid-19. Third Mistake but With love from China!

The situation is how it is now. Then we need to be cautious. Take your part. Wash your hands with Maji Tiririka, possible social distancing. Inform your neighbor about Covid-19 and how to take precautions.

Otherwise, the coffin is calling you!

ipyax,
This guy who blames leaders tries to tell us first world countries are equal to third world countries when it comes to high standards of health services.

Our economies are hand to mouth type of, we manage our lives on day to day basis. I'm certain even our president wouldn't to see any part of population get sick but reality of our Tanzania doesn't favor his good wishes.

We don't say lockdown our own people in their houses, we just say close those borders to stop virus importation from abroad.

There are still measures that can be taken without necessarily preventing people going out to seek their daily bread such as wearing masks in public transports, stoping unnecessary congregations and so on

It is easy for us to pick out our shortfalls, in reality this disease can be tackled by being able to do what medical guidelines keep telling us.

Talking of masks,I don't think we have enough of them, USA has been running short of them I really do not think we may be having them compared to the actual need of this particular time.

Let us pray to God this devil passes outside of poor households.
