University of New South Wales is hiring a fully-funded PhD student to join our team working on Underground Hydrogen Storage (UHS) project. This project aims to study hydrogen-water multiphase flow dynamics and interactions in subsurface rocks on multiple length scales.
The PhD candidate should have or expect to achieve honours degree in Subsurface Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Environmental Sciences, Geology or related disciplines. Experience of laboratory petrophysics measurements, imaging (e.g. micro-CT, PET), image processing (e.g. AVIZO, ImageJ, Dragonfly), programming, and fundamental materials characterisation (e.g. XRD, SEM) will be an advantage.
This position will give you the opportunity to develop your research skills, output scientific papers in international journals, participate in conferences and workshops.

Scholarship
- $37,684 (2024 rate) per annum = 88,576,242.00 TSH = 7381353.5 PER MONTH
- Tuition fee scholarship for International candidates
