Late night musings for President Jonathan
Your Excellency,
I guess you never thought that today would come. I do not blame you one bit, for the un-thinkable has... taken place. The people have mobilised behind two most unlikely bedfellows. A General and a Technocrat. From Yoruba, to Hausa, to Ibo, who would have thought that tribal differences could be set-aside in the pursuit of a single goal to ‘let my people go’.
My dear sweet president, who would have believed, that in 4 short years, keyboard warriors from Lagos to London, would use technology to cast evil into the light. Using the collective blue flicker of computer screens as a shining beacon for truth and transparency.
Oh my president my president, I know that you are aware of the results!! For ubiquitous clandestine agents of darkness must have been feeding you the PU scores from the shadows. I know Jega has called you on the mobile to confirm the bad news…’Oga you cannot win!!’
So there you sit in Aso Rock bereft of ideas, pondering should you concede or fight on. Do we take our chances and plunge the country into chaos? Death, burning, looting and curfews for 10 days! Till the people forgive us, till America forgives us, till the oynibo forgives us. Pata Pata China will not pull their funds, so small coins to chop go de. APC will scatter and the centre will not hold.
“A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse”
My Captain My President, I know the questions of concession are clouding your judgement. Will we be probed? Will I be arrested? Oh why did we steal so much? What will happen when they find the accounts in Switzerland, in Singapore, in Ohio and Montenegro? What will happen when they hear the true 'lamido numbers' and real details of siphoned oil. When they find out we always knew where the Chibook girls were being kept? Diezani, Iweala and madam aviation nko…Obanikoro, Fayose, Uba and Marks.
"Is there no balm in Gilead, is there no physician there?"
My president, my captain, my presido, my commandant. No victor no vanquished! Concede this election and we the people will petition on your behalf. We will beg Buhari and implore Osinbajo, we will eat kola nut, drink palm wine and pour libations to the ancestors; we will beg Awo, Tafa, Zik and Muri. We will celebrate you as ‘the one who left power after 16 years’.
So please do not listen to false prophets and demons whispering 4 more years in your left earlobe…; please do not harden your heart like Pharaoh…. after all, we all know how that story ends.
My advice, just pack and go. Nigeria will rebuild and you mr president, will be consigned a mere footnote in the annals of our history.
