The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has revealed that only three cases related to the deaths recorded during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests have reached the courts, despite investigations into 62 fatalities linked to the demonstrations.
According to IPOA, the slow pace of prosecutions has raised concerns among victims' families, human rights groups, and civil society organizations who continue to demand justice for those killed during the nationwide protests. The authority noted that investigations into several cases remain ongoing, with some files awaiting review and action by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
