So I heard its Nelson Mandela’s day today. Okay, fair enough.
So can we have or create Patrice Lumumba’s day?
Can we have Thomas Sankara’s day?
Can we have Julius Nyerere’s day?
Can we have Kwame Nkruma’s day?
Can we have Muamar Ghadafi’s day?
Can we have Chris Hani’s day?
The West and their media outlet keep creating and shoving their narrative down our throats.
Kill and demonise the real heroes who championed the best interest of black Africans, but let’s celebrate those who probably represent the interest of their puppet masters.
Never underestimate the power of media. The rest of the world understand this.
The Arab world responded with Aljazeera which always try to create their own narrative of any incident. (EG: Israeli vs Palestine crisis)
The Russians also responded with Russia Today Rt. Which tells their story and pushes their own narrative.
But do we have any globally renowned African media giant, that tells African stories? That create and push our narratives and agenda?
In Nigeria we celebrated when they gave us BBC Hausa, we jubilated when they gave us BBC Igbo, we were in frenzy when they gave us BBC pidgin English. But many forget it doesn’t mater which language it’s broadcasted on, it is still #British_Broadcasting_Corporation their programmes will never run against the interest of the British.
Tell them more about Mandela, and you will socially and psychologically engineered, and programmed their current and future leaders to wanna be like Mandela. But if we know the true story and history of Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara Chris Hani Etc perhaps many will like to be like them too.
Just as the media talks more about Dr King (MLK) than Malcolm X, why? Because they want more MLKs than Malcolm Xs in the black communities.
I do not have the political power nor the economic power. But when I do, the media, be it electronic, Print or Social media is a special tool to use in reprogramming my people.
Your physical brain is like a hardware, watch-out for the softwares running in it. Who uploaded them? Did you download them yourself?
Think about it.
Mr. Acho
