All this means is "good job Tanzania, you did not have a genocide like Rwanda or implode like Somalia" which is not much to be proud about. I have higher standards and aspirations.
When are we going to stop jumping and hollering everytime the US makes the slightest diplomatic gesture that we cannot even tell if it was made sincerely or just for diplomatic convenience ? I bet I can find some CIA reports that brand Tanzania as a violator of any or all of "good governance and democracy; the rule of law and equal administration of justice; transparent institutions with strong civil societies; and respect for human rights."
Why the hoopla ? Is it political capital in an election year? Is it the natural predilection of some African "misleaders" to think that every praise from the West is good ?
