The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda has announced a historic 22.53% interest rate for members’ savings in the financial year 2025/26, the highest in the Fund’s history. This declaration translates into UGX 5.44 trillion credited to members’ accounts.
The new rate marks a sharp rise from last year’s 13.5% and surpasses the previous record of 15%. The increase follows strong growth in the Fund’s performance, with assets under management reaching UGX 32.8 trillion and member contributions totaling UGX 2.42 trillion.
According to NSSF, the payout is based on realized investment returns, including interest income, dividends, and gains from regional equities. The interest will be applied to all qualifying member balances as of July 2025.
