In commemoration of World Environment Day on 5th June 2025, residents of Nkonko Ward in Manyoni District, Singida Region, joined hands with the non-governmental organization Amani Girls Organization, in collaboration with Stromme Foundation, to conduct a community clean-up at Nkonko Health Center and plant trees in three primary schools. This initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation and safeguard public health.
Community members who took part in the activities stated that the initiative serves as a model effort that directly addresses the community's pressing needs, particularly in areas facing long-standing challenges.
Some students and teachers from the schools where trees were planted expressed their joy and pledged to care for the trees as a priority for their schools, highlighting the importance of environmental protection and the value of planting fruit and shade trees.
Goodluck Leonard, Agribusiness Project Manager at Amani Girls Organization, explained that the activity mainly aimed to raise awareness among the community about the importance of maintaining a clean environment, as a key pillar for health and development.
