Yesterday at HK's Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (= remand prison) I was very sad to see two new Nigerian drug mules. Lately there seems to be two or more new Nigerians every week. Each will get a minimum of 9 years (after cut).
In 2013 it was Tanzanians and Kenyans who were arriving 3 or 4 every week. But since my media campaign began, assisted by Jamii and other media, the number has dropped to less than one a month.
In TZ and Kenya the word has got out: taking drugs to HK is a suicide mission - HK has the world's most sophisticated technology and world's best customs staff for detecting drug mules. But how to stop Nigerians? Would any Jamii reader please be able to put me in contact with a blog site or other media in Nigeria?
I've tried contacting Nigerian media, but no response. I'd like to post some stories about the Nigerians, and some anonymous letters from Nigerian inmates - as a way of trying to stop people being incarcerated for a large part of their life. I hope to have a Nigeria File - like this Tanzania file: 2013
