According to L’Équipe and Stad’Afic journalist Mansour Loum, Ligue 1 side Marseille have made an offer for TP Mazembe attacker and Tanzanian international Mbwana Aly Samatta.
Samatta’s contract with TP Mazembe expires in around 2 months time and he has already signed a pre-contract with Belgian side Genk.
Marseille have offered the amount that TP Mazembe asked for in terms of transfer fees and the player has now made OM his priority, but his legal team is unsure about whether or not they will be able to liberate the player from his pre-contract agreement with Genk.
This is the same problem that Nantes ran into and failed to overcome earlier on in the transfer window when they were offered the player. The player is also struggling from a moral standpoint, he feels as if he must honour the agreement that he made with the aforementioned Belgian outfit.
A source close to the player was contacted by Mansour Loum about the situation:
“We have a player who has the choice between Genk and Marseille, and he should currently be in the process of doing everything to got Marseille but it seems like it is blocked.”
Samatta to Marseille? Certainly a complicated deal…
