Dar es laam Institute of Technology (DIT) which is an equal opportunity Public employer invites qualified Public Servants to fill the following vacant posts at MWANZA and MYUNGA CAMPUSES by transfers.


1.0. GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. All applicants must be Public Servants;
2. Applications letter for Transfer should be routed through their respective employers;
3. All applicants should have skills and qualifications as shown in each post;
4. All applicants with certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities ( TCU); and
5. All Secondary and Academic Certificates should be verified by the respective Authority (NECTA and NACTE);

3.0. VACANCIES FOR MWANZA CAMPUS - 19 POSTS

3.1. ASSISTANT LECTURER - 3 POSTS
Qualifications

1. Masters in Mathematical Science - 1 post
2. Masters in Environmental Engineering - 1 post
3. Masters in Physics - 1 post

GPA should be not less than 4.0 for Masters’ Degree and 3.8 for Bachelor Degree

3.1.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to the Scheme of Service for Technical Teachers 2007 but not limited, to the following:-
2. Teach up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor’s Degree);
3. Prepare learning resource for tutorial exercises;
4. Conduct research, seminars and case studies;
5. Carry out consultancy and community services under supervision;
6. Supervise students projects;
7. Prepare teaching manuals; and
8. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

3.1.2. REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institute’s salary scale of PHTS 2/1

3.2. TUTORIAL ASSISTANT - 4 POSTS
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Arts (Communication Skills) – 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Science (Physics and Math) - 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Science (Chemistry and Biology) - 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Textile Design and Technology – 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering or Science – 1 post GPA should be not less than 3.8

3.2.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to the Scheme of Service for Technical Teachers 2007 but not limited to the following:-
2. To Teach up to NTA Level 6 (Ordinary Diploma);
3. To assist conducting tutorial and practical exercise for students under close supervision;
4. To prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises;
5. To assist in conducting research under close supervision;
6. To participate in Developing and review curriculum;
7. Carry out consultancy and community services under close supervision; and,
8. Perform any other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

3.2.2. REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institute’s salary Scale of PHTS 1/1

3.3. INSTRUCTOR II - 3 POSTS
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Textile Design and Technology – 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Fine Art – 1 post
Bachelor Degree in Science majoring in Chemistry or Biology – 1 post

GPA should be not less than 3.0

3.3.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to the Scheme of Service for Technical Teachers 2007 but not limited to the following:-
2. Teach up to NTA level 4 and may assist teaching in Higher NTA levels;
3. Prepares learning resources for practical exercises;
4. Assists in carrying out consultancy and community services;
5. Assists in conducting practical exercises for students in the department under close supervision up to level 5;
6. Prepares materials for practical exercises;
7. Carries consultancy and service job assignments under close supervision;
8. Perform any other duties assigned to him by his seniors; and
9. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

3.3.2. REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale of PTSS 10/1

3.4. WORKSHOP/LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II - 6 POSTS
Qualifications
Diploma in Laboratory Technology - 3 posts (1 Physics, 1 Chemistry and 1 Biology)
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – 1 posts
Diploma in Computer Engineering – 2 posts

3.4.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to DIT Schemes of Services for Administrative Staff of 2013 but not limited to the following:-
2. Assists in specified tasks related to laboratory practical research and students’ projects under close supervision;
3. Assists academic staff in their research, teaching and consultancy activities;
4. Assists in the repair and maintenance of laboratory and workshop facilities; and
5. Perform any other related duties assigned by immediate Supervisor.

3.4.2. REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institute’s salary scale of PGSS 4/1

3.5. Artisan II - 3 Posts
Qualifications
NVA level III/NTA Level 4 in Footwear and Leather Products - 1 post
NVA Level III in Plumbing – 1 post
NVA Level III in Laboratory Assistants – 1 post


3.5.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. According to DIT schemes of Services for Administrative Staff of 2013 but not limited to the following:-
2. Performs routine specified tasks that demand higher technical skills under supervision;
3. Keeps the work place tidy;
4. Collects and takes care of working tools;
5. Carries out minor repairs and maintenance;
6. Reports maintenance problems to senior staff;
7. Assists in Operational repair of machinery, facilities, building and Infrastructure;
8. Performs specified craft jobs under close supervision;
9. Performs technical cleaning of work environment;
10. Takes care of tools and equipment; and
11. Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by immediate Supervisor.

3.5.2. REMUNERATION
