Polisi waeleza sababu ya kumkamata Hashim Rungwe, anatuhumiwa kughushi nyaraka
Aliyekuwa mgombea Urais katika Uchaguzi Mkuu wa mwaka 2015, Hashim Rungwe anashikiliwa na polisi kwa siku nne sasa.
Rungwe ambaye ni Mwenyekiti wa Chama cha Chaumma anashikiliwa katika Kituo Kikuu cha Polisi cha Kanda Maalumu ya Dar es Salaam.
Mwanasiasa huyo anashikiliwa akituhumiwa kughushi nyaraka.
Kamanda wa Polisi wa kanda hiyo, Lazaro Mambosasa amesema leo Septemba 5 kuwa, Rungwe anashikiliwa kituoni hapo kwa siku nne.
Hata hivyo, Kamanda Mambosasa hakutaka kuingia kwa undani kuhusu suala hilo akisema hana taarifa za kutosha.

Ninawajibika kuwataarifuni kwamba Wakili Hashim Rungwe Spunda anashikiliwa na polisi kwa siku ya tisa leo.
Nimetoka kumwona Central Police Station Dar. Ameniambia hadi sasa hajaambiwa kosa lake.
Amesema siku za nyuma alishuhudia mkataba wa ununuzi wa mazao kati ya kampuni moja ya Uturuki na kampuni nyingine ya Kitanzania.
Pesa za kununulia mazao zilipitishiwa kwenye akaunti yake na akazilipa kwa kampuni ya Kitanzania.
Apparently, the latter company never honoured its part of the bargain.
Waturuki walitaka kumtumia Rungwe kuwashtaki the Tz company, lakini Rungwe akawaambia hawezi kwa sababu he acted for both.
He instead advised them to hire another counsel to act for them. He in fact undertook to help them in that endeavor.
Instead, the Turkish company took the dispute to the police, prompting Mzee Rungwe's arrest and detention.
But whatever the reason for the arrest, it's not acceptable that an advocate should be in police dungeons for nine days when the law stipulates 24 hours.
Mzee Rungwe is not only an advocate of the High Court, he's also a national chairman of a registered political party and a presidential candidate during the last General Elections.
He simply can't run from the long arm of the law.
His illegal incarceration raises the not unreasonable fears that he's being persecuted for his recent criticisms of the government.
I've demanded from the police that he'd be released forthwith or else be taken to court immediately.
I've asked the Secretariat to keep tabs of the situation and make the necessary follow up.
