Realising the right to total sanitation in Nakuru’s slums
Many of us are used to having a toilet in our homes. Some of us have two or three. In the Nakuru slums, one toilet - a simple pit latrine - is shared by up to 240 people. Imagine what that must be like.

Practical Action's ambitious project, funded by Comic Relief, will improve the quality of life for slum communities of 190,000 people, by providing access to safe, hygenic toilets and hand washing facilities.

In addition the project will establish mechanisms and capacity within local institutions to enable them to implement this approach in the remaining slums in Nakuru and more widely across Kenya

Kenyan towns have majored on real estate sector compared to Tanzanian towns which have majored on glass buildings around the CBD......Nakuru was voted the fastest growing town in Africa for a record five years between 2007 and 2012.....na watanzania should stop this stupidity of building hotels while their people live like paupers. The same situation is evident in Daresalaam. ....shiny glassy CBD but 80% of the city is informal settlements......Only Arusha looks quite different because of the Kenyan influence in that town. Wacheni kujengea wazungu mahoteli mingi na mfocus on things like roads ,hospitals, vibrant real estate etc.....take it or leave it.Halafu they declare their town better. ....smh!!!!
