The mourners deserve their peace,
Let them weep, let all their tears be released in peace,
The land was forced to drink innocent blood,
Justice must rise.
In black robes, in ashes let them mourn
Mourn dear mothers, fathers, mourn brothers, Sisters
Mourn with grace,
Why deny them to weep?
When loved ones’ lives were cut short?
Let the village honor their heroes,
Give them a burial ritual of honor ,
The heroes we once had,
Now rests silent in the grave.
Let mourners express their pain,
Their loss is deep, let them wave last goodbye in peace,
Invisible soldiers, taken too soon,
Let their cry reach the one with Justice.
Don’t silence the cries of those who mourn, don’t step on their souls,
Acknowledge their loss you who know Justice,
Don't deny their days of mourning,
Lives were cut short, let history record this.
Embrace the mourners with love,
With a word of encouragement,
Let them know we see them,
And they are not alone, together we will stand again,
Seek the names of the innocent and honor the slain,
From seven hundred to ten thousand,
Seek all their records,
Least we forget,
And Tanganyika shall rise again
Don't abandon mourners,
Don’t let silence breed a beast, the innocent blood was shed
Take a moment of silence,
Mourn with those who mourn
And as we mourn
O Justice solve our case
Who armed those men with rifles?
Who gave them power to end the light?
Why innocents were murdered in their homes? In their own cars and unarmed,
O Justice avenge us,
Come with haste do not delay.
Hidden bodies, secrets kept,
Mourners left with tears unwept,
Give them bodies of their loved ones, give them closure.
Let our answers come with grace,
Heal Tanganyika, find your strength,
Your enemies have invaded your land,
Heal with haste and avenge yourself.
Let them weep, let all their tears be released in peace,
The land was forced to drink innocent blood,
Justice must rise.
