The Ministry of Local Government has called Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Town Clerks, District Chairpersons, City and Municipal Mayors, District Service Commission Chairpersons, and other local government leaders to a one-day meeting on fighting corruption.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on 5 August 2026 at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala and will focus on implementing President Museveni's directive to expose and eliminate corruption across the country.

According to the Ministry, leaders will discuss how to improve accountability, increase transparency, strengthen service delivery, and work more closely together to tackle corruption in local governments.

The meeting comes as the government's anti-corruption campaign continues to gather momentum, with several district officials already arrested and facing prosecution over alleged corruption-related offences.
