Personnel from the Military Police Uganda have mounted a roadblock along Gayaza Road at Kitetikka, an area popularly known as “Kumbuzi,” where vehicles entering and leaving Kampala are being stopped and checked.
Motorists using the busy route reported that security officers are conducting inspections on vehicles passing through the checkpoint as part of an ongoing operation. The roadblock has caused intense traffic jam in the area, with vehicles being halted and checked before being allowed to proceed.
Similar roadblocks have also been reported in other outskirts of the city, including Kinawataka, suggesting that the operation may be part of a wider security exercise around the capital.
Authorities have not yet officially communicated the purpose of the operation.
