MECHI ya watani wa jadi, Yanga na Simba uliopigwa Uwanja wa Taifa, Dar es Salaam Jumamosi umeingiza sh. 243,017,000 kutokana na watazamaji 46,539 waliokata
tiketi kuishuhudia.

Kutokana na mapato hayo kila timu imepata sh. 51,194,793 baada ya makato mbalimbali ya gharama za mchezo kukatwa.

Timu hizo ziliumana juzi katika mchezo wa Ligi Kuu ya Tanzania Bara, ambapo zilitoka sare ya bao 1-1 ukiwa ni marudio baada ya mzunguko wa kwanza Yanga kuibuka na ushindi wa bao 1-0.

Kwa mujibu wa taarifa iliyotumwa kwa vyombo vya habari Dar es Salaam jana na Ofisa Habari wa Shirikisho la Mpira wa Miguu Tanzania (TFF), Boniface Wambura ilieleza kwamba mapato hayo yametokana na kuuzwa kwa tiketi zote za viti vya kijani 19,648 na bluu 17,045.

"Maeneo ambayo tiketi hazikuuzwa zote ni viti rangi ya machungwa, Viti Maalum A (VIP A), VIP B na VIP C ambapo kati ya tiketi 748 sawa na viti 748, tiketi 309 ndizo zilizouzwa, hivyo ukichanganya mapato yote hayo unapata fedha hizo," ilieleza taarifa hiyo.

Taarifa hiyo ilieleza kuwa baada ya kuondoa gharama za mchezo na mgao wa uwanja, Kodi ya Ongezeko la Mapato (VAT), Chama cha Soka cha Mkoa (DRFA), TFF na Baraza la Michezo la Taifa (BMT) huku klabu zikipata sh. 51,194,793.

Katika mchezo huo viingilio vilikuwa ni sh. 3,000 (viti vya kijani), sh. 5,000 (viti vya bluu), sh. 7,000 (viti rangi ya machungwa), sh. 10,000 (VIP C), sh. 20,000 (VIP B) na sh. 30,000 kwa VIP A.

KIGOGO Primary School cruised to the final of the girls' category of the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) Junior League with a convincing seven-wicket drubbing of Kawe B at the University of Dar es Salaam ground on Saturday.

Kawe B girls, who were making their maiden appearance in the last four's stage, were keen on snatching victory and maintaining their fairytale run but batting collapse failed them.

They opted to start batting and were all out after 60 runs to stay in a rather frustrating position when it came to defending the total thereafter. Sikudhani Mkwela attempted to display her batting resilience as she recorded unbeaten eight runs but her contribution did little to lift her team mates' spirit.

The team's most trusted batter, Diana James, failed to live up to her side's expectations after managing just six runs before facing dismissal. Other contributors in the total were Nasra Salum and Neema Nelson with three runs apiece.

Kigogo girls' wicket takers were Amina Said, Isabela Mathias and Nusu Masabo with two each in which Said garnered hers in just one over while the other two bowlers had three-over spells apiece.

With just a modest target of 61 runs in their sight, Kigogo girls had little trouble chasing it and they successfully did so for the loss of three wickets. None of the team's batters managed a double digit score in the innings but that did not stop them from fending off challenge from Kawe Girls' bowlers and emerge victors.

Amina Shem top scored with six runs as team mate Janet John added two runs. The team's total was also buoyed by extra runs garnered from wides and no balls conceded by Kawe B bowlers.

Kawe B's Nasma Suleiman and Nasra Salum had a wicket apiece in their futile attempt to limit their opponents to a low score. The league's coordinator Kassim Nassor said the finals of both boys and girls categories were scheduled to take place yesterday at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the TCA Twenty20 League also resumed the same day in which two matches were scheduled to take place at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club venue. Schools Combine and Veecom Warriors Development locked horns in the first match while Bhatia United played Kigogo Stars shortly thereafter.

Veecom Warriors Development was then expected to return to action the following day against Academy Boys Development.

MUIGIZAJI mahiri wa kundi la Orijino Komedi, Masanja Mkandamizaji, mwishoni mwa wiki iliyopita aliteka mkutano wa Injili kwenye viwanja vya Ubungo External, Dar es Salaam.

Masanja ambaye jina lake halisi ni Emmanuel Mgaya pia ni muimbaji wa nyimbo za Injili na msanii aliyeokoka alialikwa kupamba mkutano huo, lakini uwepo wake ulionekana kuvuta hisia za wasikilizaji wengi zaidi.

Baada ya Mchungaji Bupe Kingu ambaye ni mke wa Nabii Moses Kingu mwenyeji wa mkutano huo wa mwezi mmoja uliokuwa ukifanyika kwenye viwanja hivyo kutangaza Masanja kupanda jukwaani umati wa watu ulishangilia na waliokuwa mbali wakaanza kusogea eneo la mkutano.

Hali hiyo iliamsha hisia za wasikilizaji wengi na kushangilia wakionekana wazi kufurahia uwepo wa Masanja na shauku ya kumuona.

Masanja ambaye alijiita Mchungaji mtarajiwa alipanda jukwaani na kuimba wimbo wake wa 'Nimeamua Kumfuata Yesu' na kuwataka watu wote kucheza.

Baada ya wimbo huo pia alishirikiana na mwanamuziki nyota wa Injili, Christina Shusho katika kibao cha 'Unikumbuke'.

Masanja aliwapasha watu wanaohoji kama ameokoka na kusema: "Hivi kwa nini watu wanajiuliza Masanja kaokoka kweli, kabla hujajiuliza anza kujiuliza wewe umefuata nini."

Masanja aliuhakikishia umati huo kuwa yeye ameokoka. "Ujanja ni kuokoka, wajanja wote wamekimbilia kwa Yesu. Mtake msitake ndivyo ilivyo."

Mchungaji Bupe alisema kuna watu wamekuwa wakimtumia ujumbe wa simu kuhoji kualikwa Masanja kwenye Mkutano wa Injili na baadhi kubeza wasimchezee Mungu.

"Kuna watu wamekuwa wakituma ujumbe kwenye simu wakihoji kama Masanja ameokoka na kusema tusimchezee Mungu. Yeye mwenyewe yupo hapa na mtasikia kutoka kwake," alisema.

Dirk Kuyt hailed a "perfect" day after his hat-trick gave Liverpool a 3-1 Premier League win over Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.


The Holland striker scored from close range on three occasions to put a dent in United's title charge, but owed a lot to Luis Suarez who laid on two of the goals for him.
"It's perfect," Kuyt told Sky Sports 1 afterwards. "You dream about the hat-trick and to do it against United is the best feeling ever. I'm more than happy but I have to thank Luis because he played great and created two of the goals.
"They were quite easy goals, I used to score them in Holland when I played more like a striker. They count and I'm more than happy to take them."
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish would not be drawn on Jamie Carragher's tackle on Nani that saw the United winger stretchered off.
"I think he was fortunate to be playing for Liverpool today," Dalgish said when asked if his player was lucky not to be sent off.
"It's not correct to talk about incidents because the match was played in a great spirit."
After a tough season at Anfield, Dalglish was happy to finally give his club's fans something to cheer about.
He added: "They deserved that for the discipline, application and pride shown in themselves and the club.
"It's been a tough season, it's not finished yet but this has been the highest point so far for our supporters."

  T.Y. Pool. I guess w/ clear shots & clean up plays makes it hard for Refs to call back goals and keep ManU in it. Credit LFC for playing intense. ManU looked fairly strong w/ possession in 1st half and thought they were going to dominate game, but flopped it in 2nd.
  
  Every LFC game I've seen in the past few yrs Kuyt plays hard and is always involved doing the little things, finally gets rewarded for all his effort. However, in the past several LFC games Maxi doesn't have finishing creative touch for himself or to assist, bet he's gone this summer.
  
  This game proves good defense is a must to win EPL title and yet ManU's rival Arsenal also have defense problems so this will be a slightly off EPL yr for title race by typical stat predictors.

  we will bounce back and recover - the schedule kinda sucked for us these days, but I'm happy it's over.
  Remember you made a double out of us in 08-09 season, but still failed to win the title!!!! Got the point? And we will find a way to beat you at own back yard again.

  Caraga is a ****ing aZZ-hole, no wonder brits dropped him from the national team. He should be banned from football - this is not the first time he does it and he deserved sending off today...
  Congrats with the win, scousers, you are laughing today, but the fact is you are not in the bpl title race, you are out of FA cup, you are out UEFA CL for 3 seasons. You played for pride today and got it. I'm still happy our little Mexican denied you a clean sheet. See ya next season.

WAANDAAJI wa Tamasha la Pasaka litakalofanyika Aprili 24 mwaka huu siku ya sikukuu ya Pasaka kwenye ukumbi wa Diamond Jubilee, Dar es Salaam wamesema wamepata baraka za viongozi wa dini kuandaa tamasha hilo.

Lengo la Tamasha la Pasaka la mwaka huu ambalo linaandaliwa na Msama Promotions ni maalumu kwa ajili ya kukusanya fedha za kuwasaidia waathirika wa mabomu yaliyotokea kwenye kambi ya jeshi Gongo la Mboto jijini Dar es Salaam pamoja na kuwasaidia yatima na mitaji kwa wajane.

Taarifa kwa vyombo vya habari iliyotolewa na Mwenyekiti wa Kamati ya Maandalizi ya tamasha hilo, Alex Msama ilieleza kuwa viongozi wa madhehebu mbalimbali ya kikristo wanaunga mkono tamasha hilo.

“Nashukuru kwamba wamekuwa wakituunga mkono kwa kila hatua, hili ni jambo zuri kwetu na ni baraka kuhakikisha tunafanya vizuri.

“Wamekuwa wakitupa angalizo kwamba malengo tuliyoweka ndiyo tuyatumie kuhakikisha tunafanikisha tamasha,” alisema Msama.

Alisema baadhi ya viongozi wa dini wanataka tamasha lisitumike kama kigezo cha kujitafutia fedha na kuwasahau wahusika.

Msama alisema kwa kuanzia kamati yake imewakabidhi waathirika wa milipuko ya mabomu ya Gongo la Mboto, msaada wa vitu mbalimbali wenye thamani ya Sh milioni 3, na pia itaongeza kiasi cha fedha zitakazopatikana kwenye tamasha hilo.

Alieleza kuwa baada ya tamasha hilo kufanyika jijini Dar es Salaam pia litafanyika mjini Dodoma siku ya Aprili 25 ambayo ni Jumatatu ya Pasaka na Shinyanga litafanyika Aprili 26.

Akizungumza mjini hapa mwishoni mwa wiki, Mwenyekiti wa Chama cha Baiskeli (Chabata) Mkoa wa Tanga, Dege Masoli alisema mambo sio mazuri na wanahitaji Sh milioni 3.5 ili kuinusuru kambi hiyo.

Alisema fedha hizo zitatumika kwa chakula, matibabu, maji ya kunywa, posho ya kujikimu kwa wachezaji 10 na nauli ya kuipeleka timu Arusha.

"Tumejulishwa mashindano yataanza Machi 25 mwaka huu na hivi sasa tumelazimika kuwaweka kambini vijana hadi Machi 20 ili waweze kupata muda mzuri wa kufanya mazoezi, tulijaribu kupita kwa wadau kuomba msaada lakini mwitikio bado haujawa na mafanikio," alisema.

Alieleza kuwa kutokana na hali hiyo viongozi wa Chabata waliamua kuanza kuchangia kutoka mifukoni mwao ili kuiwezesha timu kuanza mazoezi yake kwa kuiwezesha kupata maji na chakula na kuwaomba wadau kujaribu kuisaidia.

"Tunaomba viongozi na wafanyabiashara mbalimbali wa mkoani hapa wajaribu kuisaidia timu ili iweze kupata mahitaji yake kwa ajili ya kwenda kuuwakilisha mkoa wa Tanga kwenye michuano ya kitaifa kwa sababu pamoja na viongozi kupita huku na huko bado hatujafanikiwa kukusanya kiasi chochote cha fedha au chakula," alisema.

MSANII chipukizi wa Morogoro Yusuph Ngwenje (YN) amealikwa kutumbuiza kwenye sherehe za Siku ya Wanawake Duniani kesho mjini hapa.

YN ambaye anatoka Kituo cha Utamaduni na Maendeleo ya Vijana Mkoa Morogoro, amepata mwaliko huo kutoka chama kinachohusiana na masuala ya wanawake ya Chuo Kikuu cha Kilimo (SUA).

Akizungumza na gazeti hili, Mkurugenzi wa Kituo hicho, Ngwenje Mohamed alisema wamefurahishwa kwa kiasi kikubwa kwa msanii wao kupata mwaliko huo.

"YN ana nyimbo inayohusiana na masuala ya wanawake na kama unavyojua Jumanne ni Siku ya Wanawake Duniani, hivyo atatumbuiza kwenye siku hiyo," alisema Ngwenje.

Alieleza kuwa msanii huyo atatumia tamasha hilo kutambulisha albamu yake iitwayo Haki za Wanawake na Watoto, ambayo itazinduliwa Aprili mwaka huu.

Alisema YN ambaye sasa anang'ara na albamu yake iitwayo Tutambe atafanya onesho hilo kwenye ukumbi wa Rose Garden mjini Morogoro.
