You can be identified by your heartbeat and your gait. You can be identified by your fingerprints and iris patterns. And you can always be identified by your smartphone broadcast unique number called MAC (Media Access Control) address. And more things that identify you as well: your phone number, your credit card number, the license plates on your car.

Once you are identified, the data about who you are and what you are doing can be correlated with other data collected at other times. This might be movement data, which can be used to follow you throughout your day. It can be purchasing data, Internet browsing data, or data about who you talk to via email or text.

It might be data about your income, ethnicity, lifestyle, profession and interests. There is an entire industry of data brokers who make a living analyzing and augmenting data about who you are - using surveillance data collected by all sorts of companies and then sold without your knowledge or consent.

Modern mass surveillance has three broad components: identification, correlation and discrimination.

It is not just that they know who you are, it is that they correlate what they know about you to create profiles about who you are and what your interests are. What is important to them is that you can be consistently identified over time.

The problem is that you are being identified without your knowledge or consent, and society needs rules about when that is permissible. We need new rules.

We need better rules about when and how it is permissible for authorities and companies to spy and discriminate us.

Discrimination based on protected characteristics like race and gender is already illegal (in some countries) but those rules are ineffectual against the current technologies of surveillance and control.

Regarding your last paragraph, what is your take ?? If the mass surveillance and control is inevitable. I thought you would probably finish you agenda with suggestions what to be done to avoid this surveillance systems

You only can take legal steps against actions of your being spied on but you cannot prevent people or organisations from spying on you! It's impossible

Its like when you are a womaniser you need not to be astonished when you get contacted with venerial dizizi, there's a way of getting out of that, plz dont use phones, computer or whatever live like in the past go to the vixinity in the interior remotest part of the village stay there like apes, gorrilas, chimpànzee then u wont see company making survailance over u.
Otherwise the theme of what you have narrated if not lamented are the cons of sweet smartlife

Oh i am sorry to say. You can ! And there are ways to do so.
I have been information security expert for years.
There are ways to block mass survilance..
And even commit digital theft without the goverment to know your identity.
The problem with most of the peoples they dont like to study those skills.

“If you live like you re in the past, the future will never find you”

Al Qaeda’s philosophy.

I'm not sure but I see as if you are confusing two scenerios here; being hacked and being spied! You can easily block hackers but there is no way you can block spies. For instance, can you block a person from looking at you, in a broad daylight?

Funny how al Qaeda live like fifth century arabs in the desert with bombs...
All Muslims live like that by the way, except the bombs part

I think you are the one who is confusing.
Hacking is a skill.. spy is a professional.

If you have been a programmer before , you will understand computer vision rely on specialized database. And that database can be twisted to leak or even corrupt. Or made to store false data.
There more ways to evade spies , skills , trainig to do so.
Even former spies can tell you that.
All have to do is to find their operating guidlines, stlyes and skills. Every spy has a different skills set , not allnof them can do one job.
The problem is those skills set are hidden. Only the lucky one has the access to read them. Most of peoples dont even know if they exists.

Yes, you can evade/ avoid being spied on but you cannot prevent it. Whereas the former has to do with your prior knowledge of the actions being set against you, the later has to do with something that can be easily carried on you and without any of your knowledge. My point here is that you cannot avoid / evade something that you are not aware of or that you have no knowledge of its being out against you!

My point is always stay of deffence. There are two types of poeples in spies world. One that leave water marks everywhere they go( this are normal people)
Second ones are those who dont live any clue anywhere they go, or on what they do.
Not easy to track them..they know the moment they left any single clue it is game over for them. (Most of them their either spy.. or criminals of high order)
Yes you maybe cant prevent to be spied on, but you can avoid it.
